Wake just played an emotionally draining game last night and may not have their best player available on Saturday.

We are completely rested and know we have to play with our hair on fire to prevent our OOC season from being almost as bad as last year.

So it looks good on paper and I'm confident in our defense. But as always, it comes down to whether or not players are making shots.

Tough one. I can see this being not close one way or the other. Do we put an exclamation point on a win that gets us ready for the B1G slate and reminds everyone that this team is talented enough to be undefeated at this point or is this the start of a lost season and the first tourney miss since 2019. I’m not sure. We’re going to find out what this team is made of, though I have a slight lean toward us showing out and Paul and Cliff leading the way.

We’re not in a catastrophic hole - yet, especially if seton hall plays like they did the rest of the way.

There is no chance SHU will play as intense and emotional as they did against us for an entire season. That's why they lost to Siena. That's why we lost to Lafayette last year. But more than anything else, intensity is why coach Pikiell has a team with mid level recruits (Cliff the exception) playing well against college basketball's most talented teams. Intensity has been our friend. But Seton Hall had more of it for one day.

Groz says spread is -11.5. This seems way too high. I was also certain IU would beat us.

When something looks too good to be true (betting of WF, not that it is good)…….

Rutgers 69 (really don’t know how this is possible)
Wake Forest 52 (I know how this is possible)

You can see Rutgers getting blown out at the RAC against an ok WF missing their clear best player and leading scorer?

As a multidecade Rutgers fan…I’m always waiting for the other shoe to drop. I’m a little worried about the mental make up of the team right now. Though Im optimistic that Pike will have them ready.

When's the last time we even got blown out at home by anyone?

(I don't know, but I'm looking)

I guess it would be 1/9/2021 against Ohio St. We only lost by 11 but we were down by 20 midway through the second half and never had much of a chance anytime in the 2nd half.

The next most recent home loss by >10 points was a 12 point win by Michigan on 2/5/2019. Michigan was a legit top 10 team and we had not turned the corner yet.

Anyway if we lose I think it will be close.

That Michigan game was never really a blowout either. Might have to go back to the loss to St. Johns (unless that was the prior year, in which case we dip back into the last-place B1G finishes and they're all over the place)

Even better we stomped them with their leading scorer so they don't have that excuse
