Why do so many of you have little faith in Rutgers? Please explain why Miami will win.
From what I saw this weekend Miami is very athletic which I didn't see from RU Saturday.

I believe the game will come down to interior defense and whether RU can limit offensive rebounds and 2nd chance points.

Do that and it will be a 50/50 game.

Rutgers has played no one. The one game they played vs. a team with a pulse, they crapped the bed... and that was in an empty gym, at a neutral site. They are two+ weeks behind most teams in that regard, and now they play a true road game. Caleb is back but he is nowhere near the player he can be and I expect the same from Mulcahy if he plays. The guards are Miami’s strength and I don’t expect Simpson to be up for the task. I’ve seen Miami play twice and I do not think they are a good team at all, but they are more athletic and better than Temple. Should we win? Absolutely. Will we win? Doubtful, but possible.

Yes, if RU loses, one of the excuses/explanations will be that it's the first road game and the new guys have to get used to playing in a "hostile environment." Miami is much better than Temple. RU will have to play its best game of the year to have a chance.

Elite 8 team on the road. Ru suffered major rosters losses and didnt look good against a middling Temple. May not play with its starting point guard and alot of rust on its best defensive player. Has played weak sauce schedule. Miami thumped by Maryland but beat Providence and UCF

Rutgers is the unproven team thus far and comes in as underdog but its a winnable game. Miami isnt that good and were not that good in regular season play last year

Predictions are a waste but does anyone feel comfortable knowing 2 of our better players are not in full form and that we are playing away-- if we win I'd say that's a big accomplishment.

If we were fully healthy, I'd probably pick us to win. But with Caleb still a bit rusty, and who knows what (if anything) we'll get from Paul, I just can't see it.

Miami - 68
Rutgers - 61

Going to come down to 3pt shooting by Miami. They are averaging over 21 ppg from 3 pointers at a 33% clip and RU currently is the #1 team in the nation based on 3 point % defense 10.8%.

RU wins.

Miami is an OK team. They are not the second coming of UCLA (the 60s & 70s). Miami is all about their guards. Still the guards are not superior to ours that we should not show up. I think RU can push them around under the basket if we attack the glass at both ends. They don't match up with us in the front court.

Competitive sports not about records or stats. It's about match ups. When fans understand that, then you'll understand why Rutgers is competitive against Purdue or beats Indiana even though IU has better talent on paper.

Miami doesn't have home court advantage. It's more like a neutral court game
