Shane Greene looked like Cy Young his first few weeks in Detroit then reverted back to looking like journeyman Shane Greene.

He has benefitted somewhat by pitching in a big park. I wouldn’t hang my title hopes on him.
I'm not, but...
Home FIP = 4.61
Road FIP = 2.58

I’ve seen him pitch enough to know that as a general rule, he sucks. And I’ve seen enough games at Comerica to know it’s a big park.

And I pay so little attention to baseball analytics because it’s - well - baseball.

You ain't kiddin'. They're the hands down winner of the trade deadline. They've got a chance to go on another 90s role.

The Astros won the trade deadline. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the team that was hacked is able to make deals and the team that did the hacking has the plague.

When I posted that it was after 3 and the Greinke trade hadn't been announced yet. It wasn't announced until nearly 15-20 mins after the deadline. Obviously Greinke changes that. The Cards were about as aggressive as a receding hairline.

You can look at traditional era, and it still disagrees with your home advantage theory.

Again, I don’t think it is any coincidence that there has been little interest in other clubs making deals to make the Cardinals better ever since they were caught cheating.

And I can listen to what an actual player has to say about it...

At any rate, its never a good idea to get into a discussion with a homer about their team, so good look with Shane Greene.

And in that article, it says nick has better numbers at home.

As for Greene, he's given up 4 HRs in 87 PA at home, 1 every 27.5 PA. He's given up 1 hr in 64 road PA, 1 every 64 PA.

Not sure what you base this theory on

Don't know if that's the case but it's plausible. I just think that's not a smart position for rival GM's if a trade with the Cards would improve their club. Perhaps what it is is a tiebreaker if it comes down to us or a third team. I think Garrett Cole is a FA in November, just another reason to back up the brinks truck and force him to take less money to play elsewhere. It also makes it easier for other GMs to not deal with us when Mo states that Carlson and Gorman aren't on the table.

Maybe Reyes can still return closer to September and be a welcome addition to the staff. He's back throwing but not sure what kind of load they're preparing him for. He's becoming a riddle wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.

The MLB guys say Braves and Indians won the trade deadline. Crap, I love the Braves, but this Native American uprising is scaring me a little bit.****

I think the braves won the NL easily, but no way Cleveland beat Houston with their moves. Not a braves fan but from afar you've gotta be impressed at the organization the Braves have. New Stadium, farm system stacked, and a major league roster that very well could be playing in their first WS since what, 96?

Houston got an absolute stud pitcher but they did pay dearly for him

But they've only won 1 World Series in their history and they had the young talent to move and then some and with that one move they're now the prohibitive favorite to reach just the 3rd fall classic in their history. And with the strength of their FO I see no reason they won't restock their system quickly.

I don't remember the exact numbers but I saw this stat today on the MLB network. Of the 400 or so prospects traded in 2014, only about 20% ever sniffed the big leagues. I assume they chose 2014 to give those prospects 5 years to develop.

Another stellar trade line bonanza by MOron, the worst 17n FO guy I’ve ever seen. The dumbass could have had Wheeler, Sanchez, Roark for probably Bader and a lower level prospect. Nope. Lets get Rosscup. He’s walked 8 guys his last 2 outings, 1 total inning. Let’s trade for Mejia. Dude looks like he ate Tokyo. 7 ERA. How could a GM that claims he’s “all in” in good conscious roll out Hudson, Wainwright, and wacha as the 3-4-5 guys in the midst of a supposed playoff run? And now the dipshit has forced shildt to pencil Karpenter into the leadoff spot after going 2-30 in his rehab stint. If I was this bad at my job, I woulda been canned a long time ago. ******* is letting Karpenter single handedly ruin an entire MLB organization. Truly unbelievable
