Shot this Merriam yesterday in South Dakota. Most “true” Merriam birds are in the Pine Ridge area of Nebraska, Black Hills of South Dakota and Wyoming also Montana and Idaho. Im probably missing a few places. Lots of hybrids in central Nebraska. I didn’t know Arizona had Merriam birds. I thought that they were Rios. Thanks for the added information,

The strutting bird is one the I missed in South Dakota with my bow.
By the way, I did quarter him out and pack him out, it took many trips but it was worth it!
