Without their starting PG.
It’s striking how often that’s happened. Auburn knocked us out in 2019 without their injured best player, a poor Kansas state team knocked us out in 2018 without their injured best player, and WVU knocked us out without their point guard. And they were all games where we were heavy favorites.

You’d think your opponent missing its star would help you win. But with UK at tourney time, it seems to be a harbinger of death.

There’s a significant difference between the situations. Wall, Cousins and Bledsoe had not yet officially signed with Memphis, so it was real easy for Cal to re-direct them to UK.

It wouldn’t be so easy with this class. They’ve already signed their letters of intent, which means Cal can’t take them unless UK expressly allows it.
Not accurate. A LOI is torn up when a coach leaves, its in the contract for incoming recruits to jump ship if they'd like. And they always do.

He’s pissed down his leg with way more talent than what’s coming in next year.. that class won’t win it all here or somewhere else….I’ll take that bet with anyone.
He's never landed 4 of the top 8 players, ever. This would be his first, and he's taken UK to the final four how many times with less talent?

I don’t really care what the difference is in the past of these guys. Tubby was never, ever close to this bad at Kentucky. This is an absolute embarrassment.
Oh he was worse. Go watch the Kansas game where Rondo and the starters were sitting on the bench while Dickie V kept mentioning how these guys play with no heart, that UK has lost it, etc. We haven't been crushed publicly yet, all attacks are from our own fan base so far.

I remember that game well. If you somehow think that was worse than 9-16, losing in the 1st round to St. Peter’s, or the horrific performances this year against every team we’ve played with a pulse, then you’re simply blinded by something other than actual coaching and team performances.

And we haven’t been crushed publicly? Is your head literally in the sand?

Tubby had zero chance to ever win a title here without someone creating his team for him and coaching it years prior. That was obvious to me after year 2 or 3.

What neutral observer has crushed Cal publicly for this team? I could be wrong, who?

Let me get this straight, the example you’re giving about Tubby being crushed publicly was Dickie V? While he was calling one game? Do you remember how much Dickie V absolutely LOVES Tubby Smith and how he absolutely eviscerated the Kentucky fanbase the day Tubby left? Dickie V thought we were INSANE for wanting Tubby gone. What a weird example for you to give.

We’re getting crushed by everyone right now, all angles. This is a public mocking way worse than anything we ever saw under Tubby. You have serious issues. Of course, I already knew that.

Again, show me a media member or anyone largely involved with college basketball bashing this team or Cal.

Yes, i thought it was odd too, that a man like Vitale, who loved Tubby, creamed him during the Kansas game.

I have serious issues? Im not the one so upset about this. Relax, life goes on big guy. We'll win again.

It is. Everyone I know knows I’m a diehard UK fan. Actually just got the UK license plate for our new vehicle. I feel embarrassed going out in my Kentucky gear now. I mean we are getting absolutely clobbered by any and every team with a pulse. Even by football schools in the SEC. Feels bad, man. 🤦‍♂️

Tubby had two shots with his own folks of getting to a F4.....just couldn't get over the hump.

The difference is- Tubby was never good.

Not at UK, not at Minny, not at Texas Tech, not at High Point.
Look at his record versus your fan boy uh oh your narrative implodes by the way your boy just got curb stomped by a football school.

And Calipari had 3 shots to win 3 more titles, but that 3 ball just didnt drop with 30 secs left against UConn, the ref missed the shot clock call against Wisc, and UNC got away with murder when they hammered Monk and Fox. Same can be said.

The highs are higher, and the lows are lower.......compared to Tubby. But he's still 10 times the coach.
Not even close TUBBY was 100 times the bench coach just didn’t like recruiting. Let me help you Duke Elite 8 99 remember? He didn’t call a timeout and K had no answer. Cal would have taken Turner out while he was ***** slapping WOJO.

my nightmare is Cal stays, brings in this team and then we hear about how young they are, trust the process, have patience, we aren't stealing his joy and finally, even though we came up short in wins, these boys get to reach their dreams of playing professional ball after only 8 months of wearing the UK uniform.
I told my wife this almost verbatim last night. That will happen.

This is my nightmare scenario- Cal takes the Texas job and takes next years insane class with him and makes Texas a title contender overnight, similar to what he did here with Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe.
We're left an entirely empty tank with a 5th choice of head coach.

These type of takes are asinine. 14 years of top rated classes and 1 title. Wall, Cousins, and Bledsoe are not walking through that door, and they didn't even make a Final-4. Some of you refuse to stop holding our program hostage b/c you still see Calipari at his 2009-15 tenure.

Just unbelievably stupid what the hell are these people watching the last at least 3 plus year unreal I would argue since 2016 but whatever. Every year same message, “wait till this next class” comical

This is on Mitch! Cal didn’t win with Wall, Bledsoe and Cousins. He’s not going to win with the group coming in either.

Yes he was. Tubby never beat a team seeded higher than 6 after the gifted title run of '98.

We were completely embarassed on national TV against Kansas. Even the dumbass dookie v, the full fledged Tubby *** kisser, was saying "this is not Ky basketball".

You know, in Cal's mind, going to Texas and taking next years class with him would be the ultimate way to stick it to the disloyal UK fans who have the nerve to criticize the job he is doing.

When I think of it that way, it might be something he wants to do to all the "you people are crazy" people.

Not here to debate. Can’t remember what happened yesterday at my age. Tubby was class. Couldn’t recruit. Cal is trash, can recruit. Results, anyone? Bueller? Anyone? Defend this ****.

The man accomplished nothing after Pitinos players left. Nothing. And he accomplished nothing at every school post UK as well. UK made Tubby, if not for the UK hire he never sniffs a final four in his life.

2015 wasn't that long ago and with this class coming in theres a very good chance of winning big. Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe were not ranked as high as these kids he has coming in next year....fact.
