Isn't this book supposed to be about the greatest rivalries in the state of MS? If so, why in the hell isn't the oldest and longest continually played rivalry in the state not included (Laurel vs Hattiesburg "The Little Brown Jug Game")? The series began in 1921. Are these guys morons? Its

And to answer the question in advance...yes I played in two of the games for Laurel (1-1) so I am partial to this objection.

and just a shameless way to make a few bucks without really delving into the subject. If you look at the list of "rivalries," it's laughable at best.

I definitely think that is pretty obvious. It seems they elected to talk about the "now" and not actual history. I know the Frascogna's....kinda weird folks anyway.

Agreed. Just like his last book on high school, he's just writing a book to write a book. If he mentions enough teams, more people are apt to buy it.
