Guys, it's been a minute. I get on these on again/off again message board kicks. The older the colder I reckon. Hope you fine folks have a blessed day today. Just pulled in from work a few minutes ago. Now it's bedtime until right before kickoff. I'm in need of some time off of work. Been literally burning the midnight oil for far too long. Looking forward to my last vacation week coming up soon. I need the break. It's not so much the hours taking it's toll. It's the stupidity at my job and the world in general. The movie Idiocracy is a documentary and we're living it right now. I wonder how many people notice? Not many as far as my end goes. My discerning Spirit has been on a higher alert for a while now. Get back to basics. Be kind to strangers as you never know what they're going through. Hold a door for someone. Say "hi". Help someone who needs it. Be a good listener.

Morning D-Legionnaires!

71° with a possibility of some more rain later one this morning. Going to walk the monster shortly and then head to Wichita Falls TX for the softball tournament. It's about an hour's drive from me. Radar has the area just short of the storm line coming through with a slight possibility of light rain hitting that area for a short period. We will see. Tournament starts at 0800, but I am leaving here at 0800 as our first game is at 10:00.

We went to a Kelsey Hart concert here in the Berg last night, new up and comer in the country music world, Sarah Beth Brewer, and 181 South opened for Kelsey, great concert!!! Now for the funny part, we were setting with some friends of ours, I was sitting by my friend and Mrs M was setting three chairs down from me. It was an outdoor concert and in comes in a bunch of women (rude and obnoxious) and start setting up their chairs close to us, too close for my comfort. One gets settled next to me looks around and says, you got a wife, I said yes, she says she setting down there, I said yes. Now I can't wait until she leaves so I can move! Finally they left and I moved down by Mrs. M, didn't say anything. I setting there thinking am I that good looking, was I that homely looking or was she that hard up! I finally told Mrs. M what she said and it's been non stop laughing at me since!!!!

Feel I gotta post this here so it doesn't get lost in the fray. HBO Doc. Band of Brothers:Legacy. FANTASTIC documentary about the iconic series, which IMO is THE best thing to ever be put on the screen. PawPaw was 101st Glider Division. We have a lot of Eagles Nest stuff in the Family. I eat anything WW2 related. THE greatest generation and it's not even close. When I think about what those folks did for us I get emotional. This is worth your time.

When I walked up to the window and ask the elderly woman working the stand for a Coke Zero, she ask me if I was an umpire. When I told her no I was a player she looked at me kind of funny and I said, "yeah, I get that all of the time being 69 and still playing. She laughed and said "Honey I am 82 and still working out here so...". Plus she said that if I said I was an umpire my Coke Zero would have been free. I asked: "Can I change my answer?" Of course I was joking and paid $3.00 for the soda.

Good Sunday morning everyone

I've been staying busy during the week and working on the hiking shelter every Saturday. I haven't watched a single play (live) of any football game this season. We'll take next Saturday off from working and hopefully complete it the following Saturday.

Hopefully I'll get to watch the S. Carolina game and get the W. 4-1 start will sure be nice and very unexpected.

We're almost finished remodeling at the lake and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel with some home repairs here at the house. Whew, just in time for BB season.

It was nice to read through and catch up with you all early this morning.

I was getting ready to leave the softball fields in Wichita Falls around 6:30pm tonight after getting our second loss (went 2-2 today) when I stopped by the concessions stand and wanted to see if they had Coke zero. Just drink a regular Coke and deal with the sugar and skip the chemicals… It “ain’t “ worth it. (I was a Diet Coke and Pepsi drinker (I know Zero is different but take a serious look.) for a long while.) I drink coke or Pepsi when we go out to eat now and that’s it. (Just me, I’m sick of the additives.)

Hello All,

Sitting in my car in front of church drinking a cup of coffee. (Ha, me and a brother from west Africa or somewhere near there dressed alike today except I am wearing black shoes. He just walked by my car.)

Been hurting the last couple days a little bad after installing my youngest’s RO machine. ( So far so good…)

I have an appointment at Walter Reed tomorrow so, they will hear about it and hopefully enact a plain to fix it. (My first trip ever there…) The appointment is for another reason but the issue is close so…

After 30 or 40 years of PT I think another option needs to be seriously considered….

Posted a good-sized chapter again….

I am thankful. Use this Lord’s Day to draw closer to him….

No way on the sugar. I eat enough junk foods and sweets as it is. I will take my chances with the chemicals. In the end however, I don't think it really matters, everything we eat these days will kill you unless you grow your own or buy organic. Then again, they are now saying many of these so called organic foods have been sprayed with pesticides too.

I leave it in Gods hands and ask to keep me healthy or take me home.

Morning D-Legionnaires!

Had more rain yesterday afternoon my wife told me (I was in Wichita Falls TX at a softball tournament). She said similar to Fridays 15–20-minute shower. Ground was dry however by the time I got home. Still soaking in up fast due to the long period without rain.

In the tourney yesterday I come up lame before the start of the 4th game for us. Not sure how or what happened but had sharp pains running through my right foot when I first got up to prepare for the 4th game. Walked it out and had lesser but still chronic pain so I decided to sit that one out. Still hurts a little this morning, but I got the monster walk in anyway. Have 2 fall league games this afternoon unless the fields are still wet as Lawton (where the games are played) got a lot more rain than we did in Elgin. I am actually hoping we got rained out. If not, I will show up and see if we have enough players and then probably sit those out.

Great weekend for my other sports though. UK and the Reds won, UL lost and the Bengals hopefully should win against the Steelers. While I like Rodgers, I think he just does not have it anymore. Not to say he is not a good serviceable QB, just nowhere as good as he used to be.

Good morning folks. I'm heading for church after a restful morning.

Cats romped after a slow start. Hilarious flop by Louisville. Loved the final minutes (and seconds) of the Michigan and Penn State losses.

Last weekend in September. October is typically my favorite month of the year, so it is an exciting time.

We had lunch with our younger daughter yesterday, the first time I've seen her since she got engaged. She's as happy as I've ever seen her, and she has been a happy girl all her life. Seeing it is a great feeling for a father.

My older daughter posted this clip of my grandson Charlie achieving early hoops success at age 5. He's wearing my old high school number -- 12 -- which my daughter says was just a coincidence...Or fate? Glad he got an NBA whistle here.

Posts earlier about what to eat and drink. After my colonoscopy, the doc wanted me to increase fiber. I like almonds, so as part of it, I bought almonds. Turns out almonds are high in oxalate (many kidney stones are oxalate). Now I have another kidney stone. Whatcha gonna do?
