Been trying to sell my warehouse for a long time. Finally got an offer I could accept, but the buyers had to have a specific license from the state of KY to be able to close. The state has been dragging their feet and closing has been delayed several times. The license finally came through and was supposed to close Friday, BUT the state spelled a word wrong on the license. Closing delayed again!

Good morning everyone

It sure has been a good week to be a Cat fan. I'm looking forward to both football and basketball.

I've been busy....how did it get to June 9th already? Friday and Saturday hiked my toughest trip yet. It's been a couple of years since I've really hiked hard so maybe it was the difference between hiking in my 60's vs late 50's.

Rain today and tomorrow so I'll take it easy.

Have a good one.

Morning D-Leaguers!

Mid 70's this morning with moderate winds (15-20mph). High today to be in the mid 90's.

Monster walk, exercise and grocery shopping on tap for the morning. Couch potato for the afternoon.

Reds :cautious:... Went to bed after the 7th inning knowing it was over already. 4 game losing streak, 3 games under .500 and sinking fast. About half of the team looks unmotivated. Suarez who was brought on a 1 year contract of 15 million was supposed to be bashing the ball. He hit 49 homers last year for the Mariners has only hit 4 so far this year after 65 games. On course to hit 10 or less this year. It seems that players tend to decline playing for the Reds.

Well, life goes on and football is just a couple of months away.

You folks be safe out there today and God Bless.

Good morning folks. Cloudy and humid in the east.

My son had a good day to start out his Colorado job. They are letting him rent a small trailer on the grounds for cheap. Mountains all around.

Busy day for me. My job has a definite rhythm and for the next week or so we’re in the spin cycle.

Rumbling into the subway station. Hope you all have a great day.

Hello All,

Just dropped the BB off at school and stopped at Lowe's to pickup the stain for our deck I already pressure washed a few days ago. Rain in the weather tomorrow and the next couple days. I will stain the deck today in an hour or so... If the Lord doesn't take me home. Tenants supposed to move in over the weekend. I am thankful...

Busy busy.... Ensure your busy is worth it... Have a blessed day...

Morning D-Leaguers!

74° this morning with moderate winds.

Walking the monster shortly and then preparing to help next door neighbor hang sheetrock in his other house he rents. Been years since I have done this, but I used to do it after school, weekends and summers from about age 12 until 19 when I joined the army. Hated it because my stepfather had us doing it whenever he could get us from school and weekends (paid pennies on the dollar citing we needed to earn our keep). Did not allow us to play organized ball very often since we worked a lot. I also Did some for the army in units that were doing U-do it projects when they found out I had experience with it. That was not all bad, no PT, field duty, or any other duties while doing that.

Well, hump day is here so get at it folks.

God Bless you all.

Hello All,

Sore today, who'd a thunk it... ;) Anyway, been sitting at my desk after dropping the BB off at school. Still painting our house as they haven't called me asking for the final dough. The carpets are scheduled to be cleaned Friday morning...

Found out late yesterday I have another bunch of medical exams coming up. Been on the phone most of this morning rescheduling appointments. I at least got them pushed out until the 26th. My Darling and I need some time away. Plan on leaving the 16th now. I surely tried to get us gone by the 13th... In any event, I am thankful...

Hope the Cats are moving forward now. Sure do need them as I follow no one else now.

Get a hold of what's left of this day and squeeze ALL the good out of it for yourself and others you may come in contact with....

Watching Reds bull pin blow it again. Brady Singer pitched 6 innings gave up only 2 runs. Was on line for the win as the Reds were up 4-2 going into the bottom of the 8th inning when Ferguson gave up a couple of hits and a run then, Santillon game in and gave up another hit and a run. 4-4 now going into the bottom of the 9th and the Padres coming up to bat

Hello All,

Took the Little Bigger BB and then the BB to school this morning. My Darling and I are heading over to our house in Lorton to put some finishing touches on the house and inspect the paint job. (Pay them.) Then meet the carpet cleaners in the AM tomorrow. That should allow for all required to give the new tenants a clean and sharp home to move into... The deal seems good all the way around.

Our previous tenants are so sorry they left and are in a nightmare type situation after moving out though I fully understood why as they had one son who they wanted in a certain school. They are going through semi-hard times right now as the new place they leased is not liveable as they found some bad things after the fact and have been staying in a hotel since the last day of May... Even though I wish they had stayed it seems our new tenants are well suited to maintain what we had and will have two less occupants though every once in a while they will have three people but that person checks out so... A two year lease this go-round... (May contemplate selling then but not sure...)

I am thankful and will endeavor to assist the old tenants anyway possible as they were good people/ tenants...

You all have a great day and stay safe either at home or while traveling and take time to notice and interact with; decent people...

Good morning folks.

Well, I went to bed thinking we'd have an interesting final three games in the NBA Finals, with the Spurs blowing out the Knicks, and I woke up to read how DeAaron Fox made a bonehead play near the end of an epic meltdown to blow a 29 point lead. Living on the East Coast, the Knicks bandwagon fans are as obnoxious as the Duke bandwagon fans during the college season. Ah well.

So, I guess the big Rasslin' event at the White House is today. They made working from home optional for us because of the road closings and anticipated traffic snarls.

I haven't been a wrestling fan since I was about 8 - the epic era of Dick the Bruiser Versus the Sheikh or Bobo Brazil along with legends like Haystacks Calhoun, Killer Kowalski and many more luminaries of the turnbuckle.

My half-cracked grandmother took me to Cincinnati Gardens once in that era to watch a championship bout (weren't they all?) and it was one of the craziest nights of my youth - a fight, likely staged, by two of the grapplers on their way into the arena as we waited in line for tickets, one giant brute - maybe Dick the Bruiser himself -- stalked around the entrance and yelled at kids who asked for his autograph, prompting at least one hillbilly father to have to be restrained by security, then, once the bouts began, at least a couple pissed off fans rushed the stage when they witnessed "cheating" and foul play directed against their favorites by villains, and so on. It all culminated -- of course -- with a tag team that got so out of control that security had to make an announcement for "All wrestlers return to the ring to restore order!" then lots of folding chairs and 'concrete blocks' made out of spun sugar smashed over heads...Great fun!

My son was similarly into wrestling for a very short time, and I always regretted not taking him in person at least once.

I remember those old wrestlers like Tojo Yamamoto or something like that. Plus the Von Erichs. I met the Von Erics at Ft. Sill once when they were here to entertain the troops with some wrestling. I was a Drill Sergeant and was lining up the troops to enter the gym where they were to put on an exhibition. I was about to file them in when I heard a voice behind me say "Hey Drill Sergeant, can we have a moment with these troops?) I turned and looked at this massive man, and it was one of the Von Erichs (I believe Kerry) and he stuck out his hand to shake. I thought my hands were big until his engulfed mine. Yeah, I know most of that wrestling is fake, but they were some impressive athletes with their imposing size and mobility.

Back in my younger drinking days, I was in an after hours club. I went to the bar to get a beer. I am pretty much average size. A biker wearing his colors came up beside. He must have been 6'6 and 300 pounds. Impressive size till a guy walked up beside him. It was a wrestler called Plowboy Frazier. He made the biker look like a kid. If the biker was a kid, I must have been a baby. 😁

Hello All,

Just sat down at my desk for a bit. I did get to take the BB swimming today after school so it was a good day. My first day in the water as it has been way too cold for me but today was fine. Me and the BB played until we couldn't. ( I will take a pill today.)

Worked at the Lorton house and will be back there in the morning just after 7 if the Lord doesn't take me home to get the carpet cleaners going. I hope to fix a towel ring before they get there and clean it up.

Have to power wash the garage and the garbage can as that is way too dirty. Anyway, I am thankful. Should finish our agreement with the previous tenants tomorrow. I do owe them some money and will pay them but I do have some things I will have to deduct but they are less than what someone would charge if I hired them. I will deduct about 200.00 from their deposit. I don't think they will gripe as I have things itemized...

Anyway, I meant to talk about wrestling. My older brother is a retired corporate jet pilot and worked for MASCO 33 years. (I can say it now as he has been retired ten years.) He still flies but just instructing and joy stuff now....

He worked out of Metro airport in Detroit. He was always flying around the likes of Bobo Brazil, The Shiek, Dick the Bruiser and a few times John Denver. Had pictures of them all signed but only can find one of John Denver now. Several more, even Chuck Norris who threw my brother down in a tournament Chuck was either reffing or there as a celebrity when my brother was in his mid to later teens. (I was six or seven so...) Later my brother mentioned that to him as his pilot when they met many years later. (They had some good laughs.)

My brother went far in Tae Kwon Do. I just kept up with some moves and positioning defensive stuff but only really ever boxed a bunch for real. My dumb self had his nose broke I think four times but I got the better of most of those but fighting a lot of black boxers with serious reach advantages caused my nose some serious setbacks.. 😅 🤪

I really enjoyed his stories...

Oh, this is the John Denver picture:

My brother never liked his music but I sure did enjoy it and went to a few of his concerts. Then he went all weird later so I stayed with his classics...

I've seen a few pics signed by him online and a lot look like this one but it is original. I just took it...

I typed way too much but I kept typing... Have a good evening.. (What's left of it...)

Morning D-Leaguers!

Hot day after some rain last night. Humidity will soar. Am still helping neighbor with renovating apt. for his stepdaughter. Will be headed that way soon.

I have a picture of this years co-ed team that just won the regular season title at 14-0. Not all but most players in picture. The Shirt with the number 20 is in remembrance of the man who run the team last year. He died of a heart attack just before Thanksgiving. His son is holding the T-shirt. We all have the words of that shirt on the backs of our shirts. The second picture is of some of us last year after we had won fall league and just a couple of weeks before he died. He is on the far left as you look at the picture.

Good morning folks. Sunny and hot in the east. Emerging from a very busy period at work and can ease into the weekend today. I plan to take a trip up into the Blue Ridge mountains tomorrow with my daughter, go to some of our favorite spots and circle back to either Harper's Ferrry, Shepardstown or Sharpsburg for lunch. Some lovely villages up in that part of the upper Shenandoah Valley, on up to South Mountain in Maryland.

I hope you all are enjoying Friday. Stay cool.

Yeah, slow day and uneventful. Monster walk, leg workout, and Sam's run (wife needed stuff) this morning.

Started watching Indiana Jones "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" but fell asleep for about half of it. Would have been a better movie without Shia Labonehead.

Watching Reds right now (I know, I know, glutton for punishment). Arizona up 1-0 in the 3rd. Reds just scored as I was typing this. 2 out rally with Mclain hitting a double and Arroyo driving him home with a single to right.

Heard a funny story today from our daughter in law. They help an elderly man that lives behind them, she checked on him a couple days ago and he’s telling her about his crazy grandson. He’s a convicted felon, they say he gets out and shoots a gun some (the crazy grandson), so he tells her his grandson thought someone was in his trailer, so he calls the sheriff department and tells them to come out, they do and arrest him and take his gun!!!!😂😂😂😂😂

Looks like a slow day on the D-League.

A sultry summer's day in the east. I wore myself out a bit with a morning run and have been lazing around since. Did a little maintainence work around the house.

I hope its been an easy day for all of you.

HA,

I left early to get some keys cut. Old tenant messed up a few. Met the new tenants with My Darling. Went to the Commisary on Fort Belvoir, ate lunch THEN, happened to text my youngest who works on Fort Belvoir, then took her lunch s she was overly busy.... Came back home unloaded, then went to my oldest daughters house and changed another set of toilet guts. Her phone went down so she kept me there a half hour while she made some calls and setup an appointment with her phone. I finally got my phone back and headed to my youngest daughters house and met the paving contractor to get his estimate. (She is going with him to do the work so...) (Waiting to receive everything in writing.), Dropped off a return and came home and started sprucing up the joint.

Actually wish I had a beer but have none and we are leaving Tuesday morning to visit my son and other grandbabies... And how was your day??? 🤪🥳🥳🤣

Good Sunday morning

@AustinTXCat Enjoy your eastern Ky time. I'm headed to Lake Cumberland right after church.

I was on the Pine Mountain Scenic Trail (different than the state park) at 6:30 yesterday morning weedeating the trail. 8 hours cutting and walking back out. I got almost 1 and 1/2 miles done and ran out of gas. I pack it in my backpack. I'll need to go back when I get back from the lake to finish my section.

Congrats to KAT and the Knicks.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Good morning folks.

Back from a long run. Feeling reliefed to have that behind me. Enjoying some coffee now.

Sounds like Kentucky might be zeroing in on a new AD -- hiring away the guy from Michigan State, J Batt. From what I can read about him online, he sounds like a winner. With a name like J Batt the baseball program should be in good hands. As long as he has no ties to Mitch Barnhart, has no connections to him, or owes him any allegiance he should easily be a major upgrade.

Talked to my son for a long time yesterday. He's absolutely loving the new job in Southwestern Colorado. He was heading out to Durango to join up with some people from his job. He had an early success last week and told me, "I think it was one of the happiest days of my life, dad." Hearing that made it a happy one for me, for sure. The greatest blessing a man can have after he reaches a certain point is having his children healthy and happy, and all three on mine right now are at great places in life. I'm truly thankful.

I hope it is a good day for all of you.

I read he was a soccer player on a national champion at UNC. As long as he protects the crown jewel, I guess it is ok though.

A bit of a controversy in the Cards and Twins game. Evidently, you are not allowed to look in the dugout for guidance on challenging a ball or strike call. The ump made a late call to add to the drama. The hitter clearly looked to the dugout before making the challenge. Cards manager was kicked out for arguing the whole situation.
