Hello All,

Still "stupid at it" but am thankful!

I DO see the light so I can calm myself from exploding. (I wish I could state more about why.)

My Darling keeps me sane. I have always worked by; Do the right thing. Do what you say you are going to do. Then you have to remember.....nothing. I know the right thing to do every time and other people do as well. While I have always not done the right things I have done what I say I am going to do.

Anyway, some do not like that and it shows which is why I am in the state that I am coming close to finishing a bunch of things...

Glad CP and the Cats are trending well.... Looking forward to a good team and some Cat Fights....

Have a great day and engage in good things. Let the bad stay by itself...

Just finished cleaning out about 60' of wild honeysuckle bushes. Started at 8am with hour on/off. This old man is shot. Fortunately weather is great this week: 75-80, no humidity, light breezes. Take a shower & suspect a nap is in the offing.

Morning D-Legionnaires!
I was on a cruise and a guy asked me if I had my C legs. I told him I have never had better than D legs and am too old to hope for any improvement.

Glad this thread is still rolling.

One gripe: I have never visited Pinterest more than I have this past month with the pop up ad on my phone. Seems I get anywhere close to it on this site and I am linked. 🤦‍♂️

Hello All,

Waiting on verizon, waiting on the paint guy, waiting on the deck guy (Oh, that's me.), waiting on the other paint guy.... A busy day BUT, not horrible. The BB has a game (scrimmage) soccer game today and the Little Bigger BB is graduating from kindergarten. My Darling will go with her and her Mom. I will be with the BB if the Lord doesn't take me home.

Show-off a little today. It will give you something to talk about later... 🤪 ;)

Good morning folks.

Excellent news for the Cats last night with the signing of Momcilovic. I’ve been watching video of him in games against teams like Kansas, who Iowa Stare spanked, Houston and others. I think he’s a perfect fit for the offense Pope ran the first year which was pretty effective until both Butler and Robinson were injured. I’d love to see him and a healthy Kam Williams both on the wing, opening up driving lanes for Diallo and Wilkins and keeping defenses from clogging the lane so Moreno can work on shorter defenders one-on-one.

Another beautiful day in the east. Thus has been a brilliant run. Getting off the subway in DC. You all have a good day.
I mostly post on the D, but I see you post on basketball. I can't link on this device, but you should check out evanmiya.com. pro scouts use him. He has MOM rated an A overall, A plus offense, A minus DEFENSE despite what everyone is saying. B minus playmaking. (Only C minus rebounding).

Thanks Bernie. I actually watched a YouTube video where someone did a review of EvanMiya's take on Milan and the Cats overall...He's the highest of the experts on Kentucky, ranking them 10 right now, instead of the 13-17 of most 'experts.'

Good morning folks. A busy, busy Friday for me, mostly with work but also with trying to play a role long-distance in helping sell my old family home that is abandoned now with the death of my parents. Emotionally wrenching to walk away from the home we all loved for 60 years, but it wasn't the physical structure, it was all of us gathered inside. Nothing for it, but to keep moving forward in life.

Beautiful day in the east. Nice weekend ahead, with a dinner out with friends and a belated birthday lunch a couple throws for my wife every year at a very good restaurant. Hope it is a good one for all of you.

Hi D Leaguers, it's been a while. Just wanted to drop this.

Eighty-two years ago tonight, Operation Overlord begins with Operation Neptune. The first airborne troops, Pathfinders, would have been on the ground six hours ago, and the beach assaults would begin soon. Just overwhelming to reflect upon. I think about it every year.

Morning D-leaguers!

A lot of rain last night, shop flooded per normal when it comes down in short heavy burst. Not deep flooding but enough to get the floor wet. Inch or less but wet, nonetheless. Most things elevated enough to stay dry except my exercise floor mats for exercise machines which I will pull up to dry when the heavy rains stop. There is a break in the rain now so, shortly I will take the monster for a walk before it comes back.

Not much in the sports world to cheer for as the Reds continue to disappoint. However, the World Cup starts the 11th (me thinks) and the USA plays Paraguay on the 12th. While I generally don't watch soccer (boring sport to me) , I will watch the US when we play.

Here is to hoping the weekend is relaxing for you folks and may God Bless you today and every day.

On a sad note, this reminds me of Hank Williams. He was at his peak when I was a kid and dad loved his songs. I Saw The Light was one of his hits. Minnie Pearl and Roy Acuff tried to mentor Hank. Minnie said that Hank once told her, "The trouble is, there just ain't no d@@@ light!"

Good morning folks. Happy D-Day Anniversary.

If anyone is looking for a very good book on D-Day, a friend of mine, the British writer Alex Kershaw, has a book out there since 2001 called "The Bedford Boys" which I highly recommend.

Bedford is a very small town in the hills of Southwestern Virginia. In the late 1930s, most of the eligible men joined a Virginia National Guard unit, basically to get a few bucks out of it during the Depression and hang out together on training weekends...When the Guard was mobilized into the active duty Army after Pearl Harbor the entire group of guys from the same town ended up together in the 29th Division -- the Blue-Gray Division. And on D-Day, they just happened to be in the cluster of landing crafts going into Omaha Beach that were almost totally wiped out by German machine gun fire. One tiny town lost a couple dozen men killed in about a half hour on Omaha beach.

The book is a great read about all that happened up to, and after D-Day. The town ended up having the greatest loss proportionally of any town in the country during World War 2. In 2014, Alex put me in touch with a few people from Bedford still around, including a woman whose two brothers were both killed, and we did a piece on the town for our publication. To say the entire town never really got over what happened on that one day for many decades is no exaggeration.

Heading out for a lunch. Hope you all have a great day.

Sir,

In honor of that memory I am going to pull out my guitar and play and sing that later today after we get back home. Just seems like the thing to do… My fingers are so soft right now I won’t play too much but I should be able to get that one picked. I used to do that one a lot.

Been listening and singing a lot of Merle lately mostly to karaoke online but really do like a lot of Hank and Hank Jr. songs… Just wow what they both were able to accomplish….

Sir and any/ all of you (If you've a mind to, take a listen and sing along...)

I played and sung it first a couple times but I have lost well over 50% of my guitar skills, I need them back so will work in some practice.... (Can still hit the notes singing.)

Note: Just click the "watch on youtube" button... It works...

I am convinced that some folks are born to be scoundrels no matter the up bringing or mentorship in life......they are just destined.......some of the first songs I learned as a kid was Hank's tunes.......

Hello All,

Sitting outside my church drinking coffee. My Darling is inside practicing. Plan on being at one of our houses at 1 to finish fixing a piece of deck wood then plan to finish pressure washing the bottom part, tighten a sink faucet and replace several light bulbs… Painters coming Monday and the carpet cleaners coming Friday. I will be thankful.

Enjoy this Lord’s day, sing praises to his name…

Good morning folks. Thought I had posted a few hours ago, but somehow it didn't take.

Beautiful, warm day in the east. Just back from church. Got in a four mile run while it was still cool.

My son is driving to Dolores, Colorado, near Durango in the southwest corner, to start his near job tomorrow. Coincidentally, I came across an article today on how fantastic star gazing was in that part of Colorado. Sounds like a beautiful place.

I see Kentucky signed Top Five or so recruit Ryan Hampton for next year. Great start to the next roster. THe Haters may have to get used to Pope. Looks like he plans to be here for a fourth year and more.

Have a great day folks.

Md, at 7K feet, dry, & I presume low pollution, Dolores ought to be good/great for stars viewing. Used to visit with friends at their cabin between Fairplay (aka, South Park) & Alma, CO in winter at over 10K feet. Talk about stars. Unbelievable. Tough keeping your breath there.

Mesa Verde is great. Not terribly far from Monument Valley either. Kept thinking I'd see John Wayne. Always wanted to ski Telluride, but it never happened and now won't ever. Closest I got were Crested Butte and Taos.

Yeah, I know a bit about that area. I lived in Grand Junction for six months in the late 1970s, and pipelined over in Utah, around a little ghost town called Cisco. I ranged all over that part of Colorado and Utah. I was telling my wife this morning that those were happy days.

I have to be honest here......the sport of pigeon racing is custom built for manic depressive people. One minute you are doing great and riding high and in the next instant disaster......we flew our 400 mile race Saturday......Montgomery, AL.........they started out with some tough winds out of the east and the last 100 miles the wind shifted to the NNE........I managed to squeeze out a 10 place finish but only got 1/12 of my birds Saturday.........we close a race once there are enough birds to collect the premiums...(20%) There were not enough birds in town to reach that mark.....the race remained open till sundown today......I got three more birds back this morning.......back to the drawing board......the birds that came in early this morning were my picks to win the race.......missed this one for sure.....next up is another 185 mile race from Columbia TN. I did keep my string of top 10 finishes going.....I have only had one race where my first bird wasn't in the top ten......he finished in 11th place.....

Morning D-Leaguers!

75° this morning with moderate winds.

Played final 2 games of co-ed regular season in Lawton, Ok. yesterday and won both again finishing the season 14-0 winning the regular season. Took an extra inning to win the first one and won by only 4 in the second. Third year in a row that we have won the regular season. We won the tournament as well year before last but lost the tournament last year. Tourney will be on 28 June. Going to be missing 3 main players as they will be out of the country on vacation. Will start a summer season this coming Thursday with a different team in Chickasha, Ok.

This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and glad in it.

Be safe out there and God bless.

Good morning folks. Humid morning in the east. Back from a short run.

My son made it out to the Durango area, and likes the look of things.

I’m settling in for a long work day. Still have trouble pulling the trigger on setting a retirement date. It’s all psychological at this point.

Glad to see Ryan Hampton commit. If rumors are true that he and Class #1 player Jason Spears are inseparable buddies Pope may be building a monster class.

I hope you folks have a great day.

Hello All,

My Darling and I left the house this morning about 7:50 or so and are just now back home. Won't go into details but we have been pushing it. I am thankful and do have a few more stupid type days but I DO see the light. (Keeps me quasai sane, or as sane as I can get...)

Got some good news today as well as it wasn't expected this soon and with it brings some higher good expectations... In any event, I am thankful..

Have a God induced peaceful rest of your evening(s)....
