Shohei told mgmt he could play, we played him for a month, then for the playoffs, and he had one good swing. I am not criticizing Shohei, he said he was ready. I am sure he thought he was. But the Dodgers relied too much on his words, and either he suddenly forgot how to hit, or he needed a rest.

And btw, the Lakers won. Maybe that was a good game to rest him.
