I went to bed long before the comeback/collapse. How the hell do you blow a 30 point lead?
The officiating in the first half was absolutely awful.
I'm starting to really dislike Wenby. For a guy who generally gets close calls in his favor, he sure whines a lot.

It was similar to the Cavs game when they were up 24 in 4th qtr but over the entire 2nd half. Slowly chipping away. Crowd going nuts feeding them etc. Spurs deer in headlights at times in 4th as well. Awesome game.

I didn’t watch much of the game as it looked like a blowout and I went to bed with the spurs up 15 with like 8 minutes left.
I wouldn’t put the blame on Fox but what the fug was he doing trying to score a layup off a turnover with like 12 seconds left up by 1. Dribble the ball around to run clock and make them foul you. Fox has looked like dogshit this series. Heck most of the playoffs for that matter.

I don't watch NBA but I do like the Blazers and I have a knicks water bottle and my thought is when up by 30 don't let the other team score 31 more than you.

Will be mighty tough for the Spurs to win out.

He should have had another for his actions against Brunson. I've started to dislike Wemby during this playoff run.

People keep saying that, but prior it was Wemby is too soft. He lacks stamina. He needs to be more agressive. Now that he is, it's "Wemby's a dirty player."

Regardless, Fox holds the #$&@! ball, draws a foul Spurs win by 3. DUMB DUMB DUMB!

Easy to blame Fox because he made the final mistake, but when you blow a 30 point lead there's plenty of dumb to go around.

Live and die by the 3. Spurs died a horrible 3 pt death. Wemby getting owned inside by Towns doesnt help at all. He basically stood around the perimeter all 2nd H.

Oh most certainly there's plenty of blame to pass around, but all that dumb was easily salvagable by simply holding the darn ball and escaping with a win (that wouldn't even felt deserved at that point).

The Knicks didn't play any defense in the first half. It was embarrassing.

One thing I noticed about this series is that the stars haven't always come up big in big moments. Last night Wemby missed 2 FTs and committed a huge TO in the closing minutes. Brunson missed a critical FT and his last shot was forced from almost 30 ft. Fortunately the Spurs didn't block out and Anunoby got a free run at the basket for a game winning tip in. Similar things in earlier games.

Another thing I noticed is how much these teams relay on their star players. That's always the case but not usually this much. Brunson would bring the ball up the floor and not pass it until he got double teamed. If he got rid of the ball his teammates would give it right back to him. Not much reversing the ball or screening for other players.

The Knicks blew a 14 point lead with 6 minutes remaining in game 2 but they pulled it out in the end.

And Johnson (which really surprised me). Fox will likely get traded due to salary, which will "promote" Harper. Just need to keep strengthening the bench in the off-season. This is a young team with a bright future (providing Mitch Johnson has what it takes, which I'm not so sure--Pop would have likely gotten us the win).

You can very easily play aggressively without throwing elbows. It's not difficult.

Edit to add that he and every other player that flops around for fouls when barely getting touched are soft. That part of the "Wrmby is soft" accusations I do agree with.

Unless your wing span is 8 feet. I get what you're saying, but a 6'3" guy throwing elbows around isn't the same as 7'5". Dude gets pulled and pushed all game long. You could really see his frustration with his f2 vs the Timberwolves on Naz Reid. His youth shined in that moment and he needs to do a better job controlling himself.

EDIT: Just to be clear, Wemby may be more likely to make accidental elbow contact, he's still expected to control his body...he just has to learn better how.

He is a young player, and every team that plays him has a strategy to brutalize him throughout the entire game with cheap shots.
And that has nothing to do with the fact that he should be given flagrant fouls when he plays dirty.

Playing rough and fouled hard doesn't equal throwing obvious elbows. Throw them, but expect flagrant fouls.

This may be true to a degree but the dude flops and cries at the same level as LeBron already. I’m going to laugh when a player gets injured flopping. I can’t imagine the toll it’s going to take on a persons body constantly falling to the floor as well.

Yeah I’d think Fox will be gone with them having both Harper and Castle. I keep forgetting Harper is a rookie. Still don’t get how the spurs were given the number 2 pick last year. I’m sure the league just wanted to have another young star to pair with wemby.

Next Year's starting 5:

Dylan Harper (PG)
Stephon Castle (SG)
Devin Vassell (SF) - GO NOLES!
Julian Champagnie (PF)
Victor Wembanyama (C)

Bench: ?
Keldon Johnson (SF/PF) - Better start playing like the 6th man of the year
Harrison Barnes (PF/SF) - Getting too old
Carter Bryant (SF/PF) - Solid Rookie, but he's no Harper
Luke Kornet (C) - Solid
????

I wonder if they will get a veteran power forward with a few years left to sign for a vet minimum. I think they could easily upgrade at this position.

Yeah, he's not acting like a franchise player. Not going inside, and when he's passed the ball, he immediately passes it away. Doesn't even square up to look at what he's got.

They all do this, look at SGA falling down after every shot. I agree it sucks.
