I am STILL pi$$ed! We threw this game away in the last 5 minutes. Cal always says that we play to win, we do not play "not to lose". But, in the last 5 minutes that is precisely what we did, and it came back to bite us!

Frankly, I do not understand it. We QUIT attacking.

Of course, the officiating was awful, GAVE them 4 points, and cost us at least 3. So that is a 7-point swing right there. I will be in a foul mood for at least a week......

Meh, I'm over it. This season has been a blast and although we almost did, you can't win them all. Thanks to Cal and the team

for a super fun year. Onward.

This is pretty much my point of view too. No college basketball team in history has ever started a season 38-0. Calipari did it mainly with freshmen and sophomores, and overcame Poythress' injury. But when you get into a single elimination tournament format, stuff can happen. The best team does not always win. You can't go through a season like this without playing some close games, and it doesn't take more than bad outing by your junior and a couple of questionable calls to turn the momentum in 1 game. This is a much better basketball team than our 1998 national champions. But we won the title in 1998, not this year. I believe Calipari will win more national championships at Kentucky, but it might not always happen when we think it will happen. It can be a funny game that way.

Not gonna lie. I'm heartbroken . Not only because of the loss, but what lies within that loss. The season is over. We wait all year for this. We grow to love our players and now some we may never see in a UK jersey again. The road back to November will be a long one. I'm PROUD Of our accomplishments for this year. You can't take that away. It was so fun being on top the whole season, but now it's over and that hurts.

When my wife ,who doesn't watch UK says it's heartbreaking, you know it's true. It's a good thing I have 3 children who can clear the clouds on the worst day for me. TBT, I will always bleed Kentucky Blue, and nothing can take that from me nor any other member of the BBN. As always, Go Cats.

Well said..UKDC80.. Been watching UK for 35 years. This one was difficult. Would have loved to see them play Duke.

This hurts so much. I can't imagine how the players feel. Was a fun season. Just feels like we're caught in a glitch in the matrix. Wish this te the best in whatever they do. So many inspirational stories this year. Just hurts to swallow

good thread title...man am i hurting today. Literally just got up.

I gotta hand it to Wisconsin, they played the game of their life. But in my heart, I know this game was stolen from us and I'll never be able to get over that. There's no doubt in my mind UK was not going to be allowed to win this game.

I'm over it too. It hurt for an hour or 2, but I didn't win or lose any money on the game, and I had Wisky picked anyway, so now I look forward to next year. It was a hell of a season, probably won't ever see anything like this again.

Talking to a Badger fan at the hotel this morning and he was shocked that Cal pulled this crap. It was a horrible feeling being up 4 and then losing. The Badger fans were going crazy. I hate losing!!!!!!!!

Wisky (as did Notre Dame) had no answer for Towns down low. When UK went up by four late I thought they had done it again. There is no way that UK should have had 4-5 shot clock violations after going up 4 when Wisky had not shown they could stop Towns. That was a tactical error.

Nevertheless, you guys had a phenomenal season that most schools across the country would love & be proud of. Great team, great season, just short of immortality, but still a great team. Still I realize when one is right on the precipice of immortality falling just short of it can be a downer.

I'm feeling down today, but the wildcats have little to do with it. On Monday, my wife was fired from her job. She is a pediatric nurse practitioner. Loved her job, her patients & co workers.

UK losing just doesn't even register much with me. It was a great season.

The morning after, I'm left with the following thoughts:

1. Why didn't we stop switching when they started abusing Booker in the post?
2. Was it a mistake to call all of those clear-outs late in the game that were not yielding points or fouls?
3. The refs inserted themselves into the game late with missed calls (shot clock) and phantom calls on us in such a way as to kill our momentum.
4. It was a great season - great memories - and a great team.
5. We're lucky to have Cal as coach. If he stays around he will win more championships at UK.

I'm disappointed because I would have loved for the team, the fans, and Cal to experience 40-0. I'm glad if we had to lose it came to Wisconsin rather than Duke, and I hope Wiscy kills Duke in the final game (which I probably will not watch)...

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope she finds a new and better position soon.

I get the whole "basketball isn't real life" thing, but I am crushed that this season is over. My grandma died a couple of months ago and my mom, who was her 24/7 caretaker in her last months of life, is now battling cancer for the third time. Life can really suck sometimes. When you get a team this wonderful and they lift your spirits not just the hours of the week you watch them play, but every moment you get to read about them or yuk about them on Twitter and via KSR, and you just witness something so special you can't really believe it's real... it's just been such a joy and a bright spot in my life to follow this team this year. So it registers deeply that this season is over and that little buoy I had to help keep my spirits up in the rough patches is now gone. I know this isn't unique and that many of you are going through hard times, too.
