Not sure if serious.

The Republican Party was founded as a progressive party but shifted conservative in the mid 1900s
LOL drugs are a terrible thing. Abe was asked what the new party was conserving when they called it conservative. Progressives were slave owners. Always rewriting history and projecting. You cant run from your past but you can move on from it. The more you try to project and rewrite history the more you shine a spotlight on that history. There is a reason blacks were conservative until the "New Deal". There is a reason MLK was a Republican and the left killed him. Malcolm X also warned us about you YT leftist and they killed him. Also people are waking up to these facts and are switching sides and is why Trump had such huge support in 2024 and won the popular vote even...

Funny what people will do when they're starving
This is true. Its a sign of desperation in some areas and you eat what you can get your hands on. That said in some cultures eating dogs and/or cats is normal...

Sure wasn't
right it was the far-left. Also left and right dont mean the same in Europe. By American standards they would be far-left progressive. People on the right dont use terms like "means of production" and arent big Union people. Nazi's are and do use those terms. Again the Nazi 25 point platform reads like a DSA playbook....

Again we dont run around and claim how tolerant while being the op and claiming the otherside is what you in fact are. We keep it real. So yes phuk your feelings since you give zero phuks about anybodys feelings that dont agree with you. The left is a fraud and with MAGA you know where you stand and not the passive aggressive crap you guys pull.....
It's weird watching you say that your party is the tolerant ones while writing posts that say f ck your feelings.

That's a total lie, and you have no proof to substantiate your claim. The Republican party grew out of the Whigs, Free Soil Democrats, and abolitionists in 1854 regarding the Kansas Nebraska Act. It was based in anti slavery more than anything. I swear, the amount of absolute lies leftists on here tell on a daily basis is beyond believable. Not one of you can support your lies.

Good Lord, how dumb you are relying on G. You forgot the abolitionists and the Free Party Dems. You are no historian, but definitely an ignorant fool.
This guy is a loon.

Captain Houseboat: There are five (5) sentences in your post, above.. They need to be scored for accuracy. I will handle that.

Sentence No. 1 - Just plain wrong. Wildly so, and you compound your problem by making your statement so absolute. ("[A] total lie." LOL.)

Sentence No. 2 - Correct. This was the most accurate, and best, sentence in your post.

Sentence No. 3 - Perhaps correct, but the party platform of the Republican Party was, at its founding, about a whole lot more then anti-abolitionism. I have included some information below to educate you on that.

Sentence No. 4 - Partisan, ludicrous, and laughable. It says more about you than anything, and not in a good way.

Sentence No. 5 - See my comment regarding Sentence No. 4.

Here is some information concerning the establishment and early public policy views of the Republican Party. Read and learn:

Yes, the Republican Party was considered highly progressive when it was founded in 1854. Formed by anti-slavery activists, it championed modernizing reforms, individual liberty, and the total abolition of slavery.
Their early progressive and reformist platform included:

  • Abolitionism: The party's core mission was to stop the westward expansion of slavery and eventually abolish it.
  • Economic Mobility: They championed "free soil, free labor, and free men," arguing that ordinary workers should reap the benefits of their own labor without having to compete with unpaid slave labor.
  • Infrastructure and Education: Republicans passed sweeping modernization laws during the Civil War era, including the Homestead Act to give land to settlers and the Morrill Act to fund public universities.
  • Federal Power: They utilized a strong federal government to enforce equal rights, fund the transcontinental railroad, and create the nation's first income tax.
Over the decades—particularly following the industrial revolution and the New Deal—the ideologies of the two major parties underwent a major realignment. The Republican Party gradually transitioned into a center-right and conservative political organization, while the Democratic Party absorbed many progressive ideologies.

Remember the original point was NOT whether or not republicans were anti slavery.

The original point was saying slave owners were progressive and the original republicans that fought to free the slaves were conservative.
