He's 78 and he's still a player...my hero!
I met Barry a few times in my life. The first time was the funniest. He had just published his book "The Bootleggers Boy" and was selling and signing at the Tulsa State Fair. Whatever year that was...
I stood in line with a fine looking philly to buy the book and get an autograph. I had been into weight lifting and weight gain in those days so I looked the part of a athlete, which I'm not. When it was my turn he said "it looks like I have my next linebacker" He was joking, but I am 6'3 and was about 215 pounds. I told him I couldn't outrun him in the forty and he laughed and told me "nevermind".
This is the really funny part, he asked me if I was married to the women with me and when I told him yes, he said "NEXT" to the autograph line.......
He gave me a big smile, though....The dude does love his women.......

From reading that article of some of his exploits it sounds as is he has NO problems with his gun...

Stories about Switzer's drinking and womanizing were legendary, maybe apocryphal. The $100,000 bar tab during Super Bowl week of 1996. The stewardesses he banged two at a time. The Sooner coeds whose cars were parked outside his house in the morning. The very public affair he carried on with the wife of one of his assistant coaches. These stories endeared Switzer to Sooners fans. Even the school president told him he could smoke dope as long as he won national championships.

Pryor, he's never been pretentious. He's always owned his shortcomings. Being a drunk womanizer only works when one's profession is successful. Despite his personal shortcomings, he was successful and therefore rewarded accordingly. If Switzer wasn't a successful Coach, he'd be just another troubled piece of work that society absorbs. Even w/ his baggage, he is and will always be The King.

Barry's players love him. He loves them. That speaks volumes about the man.
Their Fathers and Mothers love him, too! Barry has Charisma...Not of the 'Bud' Variety, but his own Brand of Charisma...There is Only ONE Barry...I know of no one else who could pull that off!
These are some of the exact reasons that we love Barry so much. He wasn't afraid to be open and could give an interview without coach speak. Bob and other coaches today have to be way too guarded
I use to laugh my butt off watching the playback show when Barry would say "Keep your feet and score" as he was describing the play. Like the kid was sitting next to him. He was a hoot. As Senior posted, there's only One Barry.

Sorry, I do not have a link. It was in a book written about the 47 game winning streak. Surely someone else on here has read the book. And can verify my claim. What was funny / ironic about it was that one of his players (I can't remember who) walked into his hotel room and caught them.
