Sadly is gonna last one more year minimum. If K1 can stay healthy next year it might last longer. But what happens after K1 ? Does anyone thing McWhorter is very good ? I bet he is dressed out next week. Is he not as good as Billy ?? I realize he is actually a freshman but still 3 star vs walk on. He needs to get some experience unless he is just not good at all.

We’ll have Sooners running the show for years to come. Lebby can lose out and retain his job because it’ll get excused away as bad luck. He’ll have K1 to make him look good in ‘27 and ‘28, maybe even ‘29. The best we can hope for is them to put a big effort into pulling in quality linemen on both sides of the ball.

I don’t think he will be the coach next year. Chum is in the water

I hope this experiment ends sometime later today! If KT loves State like I think he does he will welcome a good coach who can keep him safer and help State be better!

If that's the case, we'd be in decent shape (relative to now, at least). Plus, maybe he'd learn how to coach a little better during those seasons.

That said, I'm not sure he makes it past this year. Isn't his base contract up with no buyout after this season? Or have we been giving him extensions?

Kimario would be nuts to come back and play behind a Lebby O-line. He should take the cash and go to a better program. We know he's a State fan, but his future matters more. It doesn't bode well that those who picked Lebby over more qualified head coaches will choose the next HC.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Next Saturday may be a very big game.
I am pretty disgusted; we have so many holes to patch not only with players but coaches. I am not sure Lebby can fix the situation. After saying this, it is a must we beat Vandy and Tenn Tech, if not I am ok with Lebby being let go. Hey, it is his responsibility to fix this situation as is Selmon.
I don't have a true answer right now, only 6 wins is the fix.

No, having one young man carry a team is not “decent shape”. He WILL get injured again, maybe even a career recking injury. That is allowing Jeff Lebby to ride a prize pony off a cliff while he’s wearing a golden parachute.

If K1 was my son I would be having some long talks with him about moving on. Lebby mishandled every aspect except signing receivers. The OL is atrocious and Lebby throws injured players right back on the field. These injuries and playing injured is malpractice. Always short sighted 1 and 0 this week. I wouldnt want my son back on the field until he was healed up. Nagging injuries turn into surgeries.

IF we plan on trying to keep KT1, we need to know who the replacement is before firing Lebby.
We have no guarantee of keeping Kamario regardless. People seriously need to get over this shít.

There’s a whole month of time between the end of the carousel and the opening of the portal. We could keep Lebby and KT still could leave. We could fire him and KT could stay. It’s beyond anyone’s control except KT and whoever’s crafting his deal for 2027.

McWhorter supposedly has a strong arm with good velocity and a quick release. He was here for spring ball. Surely Lebby has been working with him. Seems like he would be next man up

This might actually be the best post since football began. K1 should tell Salmon, I don't return if Lebs does

I know it doesn’t work that way but he honestly has that kind of value. In his two years on the team he has scored 31 of the team’s 58 total TDs. This year he has scored 18 of their 27 total TDs. He can and will score and win games no matter who is calling plays. I hope he’s making more than Lebby because he has covered up a gulley of ineptitude.

I've said it before we need a head coach who can manage a game, hold his coordinators and other coaches accountable, recruit and develop, selectively work the portal (get us the most bang for our buck) and has a history of developing QBs. We DO NOT need an up and coming coordinator who insists on still calling his plays on offense or defense. Hire your coordinator and let them coordinate, manage the team build culture and engage fans and decide if we are going for it on fourth without your ego saying I'm going to call the perfect play! That's my choice and here it is ......

This program is bigger than 1 coach or 1 player. We can NOT keep Lebby simply because it improves our chances at holding on to KT1.
