What a way to end the game and have the ball bounce our way. How many corner bank shots, etc have I seen other teams get against us. Feels great
Wasn't that great? I did one of those cartoon takes. I thought, wow, we actually caught a break. What a way to end the game and have the ball bounce our way. How many corner bank shots, etc have I seen other teams get against us. Feels great
Fantastic name for it!What a way to end the game and have the ball bounce our way. How many corner bank shots, etc have I seen other teams get against us. Feels great
remember the time that Geo lost the ball driving on Iowa where he might have been fouled but it resulted in a turnover, sometimes these things even out in the end
another critical play was Sims travelling...I do not remember was he doubled there.
I said to myself, no 3s.. if they tie it and it’s under 30 seconds, have Geo do a step back for the win or go to OTThat travel on Simms was the game.
While I enjoyed the zebras letting them play for one, I didn't like non calls like those where our guys were put at risk for serious injuryShould have been a foul. Harper got clobbered.
But I'm happier with the lucky bounce and Geo's layup to ice the game, rather than a fresh 20 off the foul.Should have been a foul. Harper got clobbered.
Its called the give and go play where Baker passes to Harper and the ball deflects off his hands back to Baker for a uncontested layup. The Harlem Globetrotters might have used that play .
Yep, I said this after seeing the replay . He got ran over by SimmsShould have been a foul. Harper got clobbered.
We're allowed to be lucky for a change. Still remember WieskampWe got our share of lucky bounces tonight, for sure.
No, Harper shut him down, made him walkremember the time that Geo lost the ball driving on Iowa where he might have been fouled but it resulted in a turnover, sometimes these things even out in the end

FWIW, Politi didn't see the final play as lucky at all. Here's his quote: "Ron Harper Jr. somehow grabbed that pass, and while falling to the court, shoveled it back to Baker for a quick give-and-go".What a way to end the game and have the ball bounce our way. How many corner bank shots, etc have I seen other teams get against us. Feels great
No, it was Ron just playing good positional defense, sliding down the lane with Simms and causing that traveling violation.
The Steal, The Immaculate Deflection...what could be next?

after watching that Titanic Video about 30 times it is pretty clear RHJ gave it right back to Geo. What a smart play there.I actually didn't think it was a "lucky bounce" at all. Harper caught a bullet pass from Baker, (which probably, even according to Geo, was a little more flashy than it needed to be), and RHJ had the strength and control to handle it, (while getting absolutely tackled by Simms...how wasn't that a foul???), and still had the ability to pull off a great give-and-go to Baker to finish the play.
Even watching it when it happened I didn't think it was a fortunate "accident", (though Lord knows after all Rutgers fans have been through over the years we and the team were certainly due), but rather was a clutch play, (though not the kind you'd exactly "draw up"), executed at the perfect time to give us the cushion we needed to seal the "W".
Have to admit, though, calling it "The Immaculate Deflection" sounds much more slick than "The Immaculate Give-And-Go".![]()
