Why couldn’t we have played the Piggies this year? They just got slammed at home by W. Kentucky 45-19. They are now 2-8 with their 2 wins at home against Portland State and Colorado State.

Their last 2 games are at LSU and at home to Missouri.

On a side note, ECU might be a tougher than expected game at their place. They’ve had a couple of Tulsa games—losing today at SMU 51-59 and last week at home to Cincy 43-46.

You said it. I love seeing them lose, but wish it'd be against us for a change.

He got better every year and his offense led us to a 10-3 season and was pretty good to Clemson.

Probably cuz it was at SMU. People probably think if you can just get bowl eligible at Death Penalty U. that you can win anywhere. This thinking may be changing now however for multiple reasons.

As much as I dislike Arkansas, it would be nice to be a fan of a program that actually fires coaches for exceptionally poor results.

I actually wondered if he would get fired at halftime. Even the SEC Network sunshine pumpers referred to Ark as inept and hapless.

I would feel better about this is we weren't facing the same situation in our basketball program.

And, just arriving home, apparently the mighty Sooners had to luck out on a 2 point conversion to survive I State.

He was told to move on at Clemson. I thought that was a cultural/geographic thing but it played out differently.

BTW, Gold called his tepid performance at SMU before he went there and correctly predicted the Ark disaster.

He's a solid case study for the argument that successful assistant coaches and coordinators don't always evolve into becoming effective head coaches. I'm obviously not a head coach of a college football program; however, I would posit that the most important aspect of coaching that leads to success on game day is being able to recruit solid players and being able to convince a team to subscribe to a vision. Barry Switzer was a great head coach because he was likable, down to earth, confident and inspiring, he could recruit the best players in the region. Chad Morris seems rather Mr. Rogers(ish), kinda a milksop and uninspiring. And his press conferences post game were replete with false bravado. Just my unsolicited opinion.

He has as many losses as a college coach as he did as a high school coach, but with 151 fewer wins.

Bielema has idiots working for him. His buyout payout is $50,000 a year. Who signs something like that?

Well now, Hank, if you look at aesthetics no. But given the situation where we are playing against the team with arguably the best long term version of a winning tradition in the AAC, we are on a five game losing streak, and our quarterback has been injured and can't return. Monty the Turtle finally sticks his head out [just a bit] from the shell. Boomer doesn't stand there like a cigar store statue when the rush comes. But most of all we win. Classic probably should be reserved for LSU beating Alabama, but with all of the above caveats it was a remarkable change from games that left you taking your blood pressure with a truck tire gauge.

As always, I reserve the right to revise and extend my remarks.

I don’t think Bielema feels too bad right now. He’s the DL coach for the Patriots.

Yeah he does. He was owed $11 million at the firing. Paid out at around $350,000 a month until December 2020 while he remained unemployed and actively seeking employment. He was an unpaid advisor with the Patriots last year, and then took the DL line job. Arky claims that terminates their buyout responsibilities under one part of the contract and they only need pay him $50,000 next year under a different part. Will likely lead to legal action and a settlement if Arky is lucky.

In other news, I hear Arky may have to renegotiate obligations on the bonds issued to build their stadium to meet the Morris buyout requirements. Or issue new bonds to meet payment obligations on both the earlier bonds and Morris. Essentially cash advancing one credit card to make minimum payments on another Visa card. The kinda trouble TU got into a few years ago. Couldn’t happen to a nicer class of people.

how about morris for an offensive coordinatoer he did a great job for tulsa PREVIOUSLY
