Huh? They've offered fence funding at least twice this year. Including just recently to avert this silly shutdown.
This guy just repeats the crap that is fed to him by right wing outlets. I swear he has asked this same question 10 times on here and refuses to listen to any answer. Just ignores the facts in favor of alternative facts just like all the other Trumpers. Only thing dumber is stating "Trump doesn't have a bill on his desk".

I ask the same questions because you people can't seem to fuc#ing answer them, and silly me hopes one day you might be able to. Plus I enjoy pointing out the hypocrisy.

They have? You mean the $1.3 billion for border security? Bump that up to the $5 billion Trump wants and have him veto it or sign it. **** or get off the pot.

Why would they need to bump it up to $5bn? I don't get it. Trump wants $5bn of Wall funding.

Give Trump $5 billion for border security. Dems can call it a "fence", get them a little win. Donald can get his $5 billion, get him a little win. Both sides appease their base and calls it a day.

Otherwise, give Trump his "wall" and attached DACA to it. They have a golden opportunity to get something they really want while giving up NOTHING in return.

Why $5 bn? Because Trump says so? That's silly. Throwing $5 bn away to argue about semantics doesn't feel very good governmenty to me.

I have no idea why the WH passed on the DACA for wall legislation. Well, I have some idea.

$5 billion could buy you over 10 million cubic yards of concrete. That's more than enough concrete to build a 30' high wall for 100 miles.

If the left is willing to give $1.3 billion, why not tack another few billion onto it and get something good in return.

John Kelly says a concrete wall was dropped a long time ago.

Throwing away billions to argue semantics is how Washington works. Where have you been for the past 40 years?

We're talking about an extra $3.5 - $3.7 billion.

Then why did you ask how much concrete $5 billion can get?

And Bru wonders why I ask the same questions over and over. It because fut nucks can't answer simple questions.

I don't give a **** about what he promised. I don't give a **** what you call it. I don't give a **** what Bush called it, what Trump calls it, what the Dems call it. I don't give a **** about how you build it or what you build it with.

It's clear as fuc#ing day that Trump wants his little victory and has nothing to lose with the shutdown. So let the dolt think he's going to get it and move on.

By not agreeing to waste $5bn that even Senate Repubs aren't asking for? I guess namecalling is easier than defending positions.

You're not defending your position, other than saying you think it's a waste of money.

We have a shutdown that revolves around $3.7 billion. Time for the ******** to end and come to a COMPROMISE.

The President shouldn’t be able to hold the government ransom for any one thing. Now if this is the MAJORITY party leader speaking, then I get it. But Trump doesn’t seem to be on the same page with his party at all

As long as the President has to sign it, the parties need work with him on a Compromise.

You've got to approach him like a little kid. Let him think he's getting what he wants and move on.

and meanwhile, Trump used the wall as a political ploy including Mexico paying for it. If there is someone that needs to understand hypocrisy, it is whining why the Dems have a problem giving one red cent in order for Trump to fulfill a political ploy while holding the country's operations as a ransom.

What's the compromise? Wording? If $1.3 bn for a few months is what is needed for border security for a few months, then that's all they should get. Pointing out that it is a waste of money, and by your posts $5 bn is only for political reasons, is a good enough defense, imo, for not supporting more government waste. Republicans and libertarians used to agree with this.

Take Trump and his ridiculous promises out of the equation. Is border security worth the investment? Absolutely. Should the Democrats withhold spending on border security because of Trump's political ploys and semantics? Not if they mean what they say about border security, especially considering the fact that they were so willing to do so prior to Trump.

The compromise is you give Trump his funding amount while getting something in return.

But put the politics of it aside, border security IS a good investment and as a Libertarian I'm much more willing to spend $5 billion on border security than some other boondoggle, and we both know there's PLENTY of programs well above $5 billion that could/should be cut/scrapped/eliminated. (Remember High Speed Rail)

I guess compromise and negotiation is too much to ask for.
