I read that and first thought was that a slug is a higher life form than a slime mold. Doesn't say much for either.

[laughing] I had to laugh. I was hiking with my daughter in the California mountains last week and she moved a slug off the path so it wouldn't get squashed. So, maybe slugs are more valued? [winking]
