I know it's been 6+ years, but people seem to have forgot how good John Wall was. He was dominant--the best player in the country the moment he stepped on the floor. He willed UK to several wins and a 35-3 record. There was a reason he was the number one pick.
I can't help but scratch my head when I read things like, "Fox has better long term potential, because he can be one of the best point guards in the NBA." John Wall is averaging 24 ppg, 9 apg, 5 rpg, and 2 steals on 45% from the field and 38% from 3. He doesn't have potential to be great, he already is. He's a multi time all star at age 25.
I love this team and Fox, but we've played a subpar schedule so far. Wall's full season stats (much better competition) are similar to Fox. Fox's raw numbers will likely go down a bit just because I doubt UK averages 93 points this season. Six games into Wall's career he was averaging 19 ppg and 7.9 apg on 52% shooting.
Fox is great. He's very under control, looks to be a great on ball defender, has excellent floor vision, and a very nice mid range game. I can't wait to see how the season plays out. Fox is going to be awesome by March (already is in some respects), but that doesn't mean it's at the expense of Wall.
