It's just a matter of time before the brilliant folks at the NCAA make another rule that makes it a major infraction if previous players come back to work out with existing players. You watch, it'll happen.

Not if Rat face at Puke decides it's a good thing The NCAA will declare it the greatest thing since sliced bread then !

LOL both of you are right!

That's why I thought those that was saying Humphries would never be any good was crazy. He is just now 18 years old going into his sophomore year and will be a load once he gets his confidence and experience. He has all the tools to be a very good player in college and the pro's.

Yeah it was dumb to say he'd never be good. He's big, decently coordinated, not afraid of physical play. Just needs strength and experience. I'd expect him to be a solid contributor and possible starter depending on other personnel his Junior and Senior years, hopefully can give us some good reserve minutes in games against teams with solid front lines this year.

You've been trying to convince everyone that you're not a troll, then you do this. #notsmartdumbass!

A duke fan would do this not a troll, a troll would convince y'all would get bolden when he had already signed. #boldentouk

Would love to see KAT show Humphries a few tricks when he's back in town for his ROY camp. If Hump is able to take high motor, very athletic guys that play good defense (like Wenyen) off the dribble, and he shows the kind of skill that he does show (high school free throw numbers are KAT'esque, we know he has good range on his jumper for a 7 footer), then I think Towns could teach him a lot of his own tricks that would translate well to Hump's game.

Probably already wouldve, if not for UNC marching Jordan around all the time. Still, wouldnt put it past the NCAA to somehow make it only impermissible for UK to do it.

If Humphries can DEFEND, then we will be very, very good inside this year.

It's not really a question of his offense, he has good hands, good touch around the rim, can hit free throws, has good post moves, decent foot work, and can hit the 15 foot jumper.

The problem is defense.

Can he hold his own in the post? Can he play the pick and roll and not get beaten by a guard on a switch? That is what will keep him on the bench.

I look for him to improve and be a valuable backup to play behind Bam at the 5. I think he gets between 5-10mpg and plays regularly every game this season. I think a maximum of 15mpg would be his ceiling, unless he makes some really dramatic improvement on the defensive end.

It will be called the Kentucky rule.

The only improvement we could make to this team, IMHO, would be to add another wing shooter (like Andrew White). I think we have everything we need to win a title. Just need to stay major injury free and then have a little luck.

I can't wait to see this group in action.

Sounds good! It's great that the entire team is on campus this summer. I think most of us felt that hurt the Harrisons a bit their first year. And especially the freshmen who of course we rely on every year.

And Young. We were missing our starting backcourt until late into the offseason.

And last year, Murray didn't sign until late June, and didn't come in until August because of the Pan Am games.

Humphries didn't sign until August.

It's a big advantage to have the entire team together early on. It will help even more when these guys with nagging injuries (Bam, SKJ) can get on the floor with the rest of the team.

The plus is that Hump drove past Wenyen even though he doesn't have handles and isn't that fast. The minus is its been said plenty of time in scouting reports that Wenyen has issues driving past and keeping wings in front of him due to lack of foot speed so if Hump can drive past him what do we have to look forward to when he is on the wing guarding a much quicking SF?

You're not the only one. Really isn't that big of a deal though, Bolden isn't some kind of superstar. Likely wouldn't start for either team.

I think he would for UK maybe not for duke because of amile and harry but he's exactly what you guys need to truly dominant , that or a sf

Love Liggins. Him and Cliff Hawkins. They set the standard for how defense should be played at UK.

But harry is overrated as is with his knees and will more than likely have spaghetti noodle legs. Prolly will be a little pansy too because he'll be afraid of hurting himself again. I wouldn't depend on him too much. And Jefferson looks 60 years old. Been there that long too.

I never understood the love affair with Bolden. Watched him play a few times, I wasn't impressed. Read the write up on draftexpress, still not impressed. He was a luxury project. He is very used to getting his way playing against smaller kids in high school. I'm fine with Humphries who will have a better season than Bolden. As for Giles, I'd be careful putting too many eggs in that basket. He is going to hit a buzz saw when he starts playing. In the last 3 years he has played 1 season. He's had both ACL's fixed, an MCL and the meniscus in one knee. You really have no idea what you'll get from him or if he'll even be ready at all. Alex wasn't ready last year. Rose has never come back fully from his ACL.

Having Liggins there to guard people is big imo. Best way to see what you have

Whatever he becomes, I'll be thrilled with. He showed numerous times last year, at only 17, that he will be a good player. Maybe not an all-star but a solid contributor. Probably a pro.
He's a player this year that'll turn heads, considering all the incoming Tallent...
