Man, the 2nd coming of Zimmerman. I believe it to be underestimated of just how it lifted the whole team.

I was on the road during one of the early games this season listening to the game on the radio. Richard Williams is not one to heap praise on any player, but he said of Molinar "That young man is going to be a star."

What was so impressive about that throwdown is that no matter how many times you watch the replay, it keeps sneaking up on you, it was that explosive.

It's cool seeing Zim on the sidelines. After this year, he'll have a master's in education and coaching (or whatever it is). I hope he lands in a good spot. I really wish we could keep him here.

I’m glad to see this thread and the Zimmerman comps. I think he has a higher ceiling but that’s a fair comp. On twitter I saw some Russell Westbrook stuff, obviously b/c of Howland, and while I’d love for that to end up being true, a NBA HOF’r comp dude’s freshman year isn’t fair.

There's a story on how Molinar got here, and Westbrook is kinda involved I think. Whoever recommended Howland look at him was coaching him and is related to Westbrook somehow, friend/uncle..... I can't remember. Anyone remember exactly what the story is? Maybe that's part of whatever is on tweeter involving Westbrook, but I'm prolly wrong. For a freshman he has incredible poise I think. He's already a dam good player, a couple more years he's gonna be incredible.

Westbrook's brother was coaching an AAU team with Molinar on it. That's how Howland got involved.
It's going to be interesting when Nick W is eligible because it will be hard to bench Molinar too much. Quite a problem to have, huh?
