MKG 11.9 points 7.4 rebound 1.8 assists in 31 minutes per game. Per 40 stats 15.35 ppg and 9.5 rebounds. Please don't put MKG and Diallo in the same catagory .
I mean it still kinda makes sense though. After a transfer the “sources” ask around, “hey what happened here?” People in the know won’t usually just volunteer that information before the fact, when it could have a detrimental effect if it gets out. Now that it’s done, whatever, it makes no difference. You can share information without directly sharing it. There wasn't a whisper of any of this stuff.
In fact, most around the program kept reporting on how great Whitney's attitude was, how he was still putting in extra work, telling Cal he knew he had to play better, and cheering on his teammates.
Well just have to agree to disagree on this .MKG 11.9 points 7.4 rebound 1.8 assists in 31 minutes per game. Per 40 stats 15.35 ppg and 9.5 rebounds.
Diallo: 10.1 points 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 24 minutes per game. Per 40 stats 16.8 ppg and 6 rebounds.
sure MKG was hands down a better player and a master defender but the comparison isn’t as far off as some may think. Diallo wasn’t nearly as bad as people make him out to be while here. He gave effort and tried hard. He won us several games in our OOC that season. He was ready to go from day 1 and a lot of our freshman didn’t come along until January and after. (SGA)
He earned his ranking by dunking on 5ft11 white kids. Most of his plays in HS at least the highlights were at the rim. He couldn't do that in college. I kept waiting for that thunderous dunk at UK and it never came. It almost seems like he expected everything including PT to be given to him because he was ranked so high and a potential lottery pick. He couldn't shoot, not even FTs. Bricklayer. Couldn't grab rebounds. Was useless to this team except as a body with 5 fouls. I hope Cal stays away from kids like this moving forward. You have to be able to shoot in today's game unless you are a 7 footer, rim protector that's dunking everything. Yet even Nick has a great jump shot and is trustworthy from the line. The self-promoted youtube Dragon is nothing more than a cautionary tale. UK was the last place he needed to be. These kids under Cal work their asses off and even AD and KAT have taken smaller roles to help the team win.I was one of his biggest fans upon his commitment. The more I read, though, I’m truly and honestly glad the kid’s gone. It would’ve ended up hurting team chemistry. Oh well.
I don’t buy that his dad made him leave. Whitney is at least 18 and a free American right? If he wanted to stay he could’ve stayed. Adults must take responsibility for their actions. He’s an adult so it falls directly on his shoulders regardless of what his dad wanted.Well he also said that Whitney and his teammates were visibly upset about the situation, because he wanted to stay. This was on Andy Sweeney's radio show.

They’re the guys actually posting the info on this site. Atleast that’s the case with Travis Graf. I’ve seen enough of his posts to know he has legit connections. If you are talking about podcast I think, most of those guys get their info off sites like this one
Matt basically has a direct connection inside THE PROGRAM. Info on recruits...he does not know anything beyond what the coaching staffs tell him. They’re the guys actually posting the info on this site. Atleast that’s the case with Travis Graf. Also I haven’t seen it mentioned but the other day on KSR, Matt said Whitney’s parents came to the lodge one day and just started moving his stuff out and the coaches didn’t know about any of it.
How? Because I’m a father of a kid his age. He is a basketball player yes, but he’s also just a kid, Yeah he may have thought it was going to be easy and wasn’t. SO WHAT!!! I 10,000% wish him the best in his future. How can you wish someone who doesn’t want to work for playing time the best? Just roll in here and think he’s gonna play 30 minutes a game? Glad the kid is gone.
I never said I didn’t wish him the best! Like most kids these days, things get tough they take the easy way out. How? Because I’m a father of a kid his age. Diallo is 3x the player Whitney was in his 1 year UK. I mean he was really solid not great but solid . Made lots of great plays on both ends and won some games for us . He is an NBA bench player and he will be IMO for another 5 years . Whitney would need a lot of work on both ends to come close to Diallo.
Agreed, but how many times have you heard a recruit go to a certain school because their mom wanted him to? That being said, just passing on what Mike Pratt said on the radio, I think he is a pretty good source.I don’t buy that his dad made him leave. Whitney is at least 18 and a free American right? If he wanted to stay he could’ve stayed. Adults must take responsibility for their actions. He’s an adult so it falls directly on his shoulders regardless of what his dad wanted.
I know u didn’t, you asked me “ how I could wish him the best? ”, you also said “you’re glad he’s gone”! I just answered your question. Just because he wasn’t good enough for Kentucky, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t do what he thinks best for him and go somewhere else. I actually think it was the right decision for him and hope he makes the most of it. He really is a great kid and I’m glad we got to be a small part of his career.I never said I didn’t wish him the best! Like most kids these days, things get tough they take the easy way out.
I wont go into it, I have heard their "predictions" also. The guy they make fun of has more connections than any of them (Ryan)They’re the guys actually posting the info on this site. Atleast that’s the case with Travis Graf. I’ve seen enough of his posts to know he has legit connections.
