Mitch didn’t wait for the white smoke and picked the wrong Pope in 2024
It's not time for it. He's not an alcoholic, doesn't lock players in stalls or hit on the girls around campus. He'll be here a third year, everyone will be watching to see whether he makes wholesale changes to his staff and roster, and ditches the analytics.
Year 3 is going to be special, watch and see.

So you want him to be a complete different person in year 3? That should work out great
Where did you get "completely different person"? Make big changes to your staff and roster, and spending more time coaching and developing players than squinting and making mental notes for the second half, is unreasonable.
No coach anywhere in college basketball is going to ditch analytics. Best forget that.

Name your top coach, they are all using analytics. The only two coaches that I can think of that don’t use them regularly and still performing at a reasonably high level is Calipari and Izzo.
One of my least favorite things about Pope is that he blames his worst decisions on analytics. When he says it, it makes no sense. Don’t believe me? Ask JonathanW2 if a single half of a basketball game offers enough stats to perform a full data analysis. The answer is no, it’s a tiny sample size and not enough to make reliable assumptions. Pope says that stuff and it’s kind of annoying but I’m still with coach Pope.

Stop relying on analytics. That's him. If he wins it will be the exact way he's coached the past 2 years. If we had a pg this year that could move with the ball early on I believe we would have around 5 losses right now. So I think it's possible for him to win

And at the end of the day, the talent on the court still determines what type of season a team has.
