While Republicans stand for limited government, low taxes, free markets, family values and treating everyone equally, the Democrats strangely don’t have principles. This makes it odd that half the country chooses their cobbled-together combination of viewpoints.

Democrats prefer a massive level of government, which isn’t based on any principle but whatever the fad is. Lately, they’ve been favoring Democratic Socialism. They are always raising taxes, and it’s never clear how high they want to raise them. At the same time, they disguise their language to not overtly admit they are raising taxes.

Democrats like only somewhat free markets, and arbitrarily decide which areas they decide to clamp down on with government regulations.

When it comes to the family, Democrats basically position themselves as opposing anything Republicans value. They promote alternative types of families other than nuclear families, despite evidence showing nuclear families are the best environments to grow up in for children.

I know you'll disagree, and you might be 100% right, but I don't think that matters..Americans see high gas and food prices, they blame trump, democrats are saying what people want to hear...I think republicans will lose in November. The only caveat, is that I don't know what the redistricting will do to the outcome.

In fairness though, the Republican Congress can point to a lot of things they have accomplished this session...but those are not the things Americans care about today....high prices, inflation, grocery and gas prices....
We're a shallow people...most couldn't tell you the 3 branches of government, who the Vice President is or where Iran is on a map..but they know the price of gas is over $4/gal, that Trump policy is the reason and that Trump is Republican.

...I think you're confusing "I don't agree with their principles" with "they don't have principles."

The Dem's platform actually lays out a pretty clear set of principles: economic security, expanding access to health care, labor rights, civil rights, environmental protection, reproductive rights, voting rights, etc. You can disagree them all day long, but saying they don't exist isn't accurate.

And on the family issue, I'm actually a pretty strong proponent of the traditional nuclear family. There is plenty of research showing that children generally do better when they grow up in a stable, two-parent household. But it's a stretch to say Dems oppose the nuclear family just because they also recognize or support other family structures.

Principles are sometimes more helpful in principle than in practice.

I before e except after c or when sounded in a as in neighbor or weigh.

As a species, we have studied science and language since the ancients watched the glaciers retreat, and at our current height of civilization the most efficient principle we have come up with to guide us in our spelling of the weird ie/ei words, in our own non-foreign language, has eight exceptions in this sentence alone.
