I slept like a baby, I woke up crying every two hours.
Not as bad as I thought I would.

As a side note, after the game we went into Bigg Blue Martini. We got a table. I noticed Mark Stoops and two of his assistants sitting at a table about 20 feet from us. I witnessed throughout about a 20 minute period, just three people approached him. By the body language of the fans, they were just giving him encouragement type of stuff. I have to tell you, he wasn’t very friendly by what I saw. Didn’t smile, barely turned around to even acknowledge them. Seemed bothered by it. Very odd to me.

At any rate, as he and his two assistants were leaving, Jay Bills walks past us in a t-shirt and orders a beer at the bar. 5 minutes later, Jay Williams, Seth Greenberg, and Maria Taylor join Jay at the corner of the bar.
They’re having drinks and enjoying some conversation. Probably over the course of the next hour, a dozen or so people approached them. I have to tell you, they had no problem talking to fans, taking pictures, laughing, shaking hands, and really seemed pretty damn cool.

I just thought I would share these observations with you.

Yea, we still should have won the game against a terrible offensive team.

They played terribly, but I think Florida has the highest ranked offense in the conference. They are a terrible defensive team, and that is the part that's inexcusable.

1. Encouraged that we played better defense. PJ was very good on D I thought, and we challenged their shots most of the night.
2. Completely mystified as to how we can continue to have such horrid turnovers. That beat us last night.
3. Seems like we have a nice group of complementary type players...none of whom seem to have all the tools to be stars or crunch time guys. I thought Knox could be that guy, and maybe Diallo, but they haven't shown it yet. They make questionable decisions and jack up quick shots when the chips are down.
4. Hard to stomach that we lost to a team that didn't play well at all.

My reply is one you used about the South Carolina game, not the Florida game, like the mix and match game you are playing.

I hate myself to allow my life to revolve around KY basketball and Miami football. Really bad character flaw on my part. Probably should go exercise right now.

I'm having the same thoughts this morning that have occurred to me during the last half dozen games or so. Thoughts like marveling at the size and raw talent on this team. Seeing the athleticism and depth and the potential. And then I end up at the same painful, clear as a bell realization that this team is just TOO young, and all of the individual players simply don't know what they are doing yet. And, that unfortunately this team is just too far down the learning curve and will run out of time before being able to compete at a high level.

My daughter thinks it's funny that I call them the Mighty Kittens.

Yesterday sucked but today is a new day. I have hit the reset button. Just like in life when things crap out you just have to start fresh, find ways to improve and get back to work.

At the moment we still have a lot of upside and plenty of opportunities to make noise in march. Everyone needs to buy in and we as fans need should double down right about now. No time to jump ship or limp away. We expect cal and the team to keep plugging so that is the least we can do.

I’m off the ledge. Better today. I’m not giving up just yet on these guys. They are tough to watch @ times but man they show flashes of greatness. I think it hurts more b/c of the Zion. But hey, he didn’t want to come so best of luck to him. I’m excited for a good run.
