We talk a lot of **** about the rivalry but he’s one of the better people I’ve ever met. This guy truly believes we’re cutting heads to get the season canceled for the sole entire purpose of not having to play the Egg Bowl.

Is that a common theory right now? I’m baffled.

Just so we’re clear and I’m understanding this... There are actually people who believe we are trying to get players to opt out, transfer, or catch COVID just so we won’t have to play a 3-4 OM team with one of the worst SEC defenses of the past 10 years? That sounds like a theory only Yancy/McCready could come up with, and only their followers could believe.

Exactly how do they think these conversations are going?

“Hey guys, we would be missing out on millions in TV money and tick off the SEC, but we really need to avoid playing OM.”

“Hey Marcus, you are our best safety in a position group that has already been decimated by attrition, but we really need you to leave the program so that we may be able to avoid a mediocre OM team.”

“Hey Nathan, you are one of our best defensive players, but it would be great if you could opt out with four games left. We are terrified of OM and think if you opt out, there may be a chance for us to avoid playing them.”

There is a group of MSU fans who have a weird complex when it comes to OM. But there is also a faction of OM fans who have an equally bizarre complex with State, where they think every decision at MSU or event involving Mississippi State is somehow a reaction to OM.

It is very strange, like they get off on thinking that the institution of Mississippi State is so consumed with OM that even roster/virus issues with the football team is somehow tied back to an “obsession” with OM.

Thinking that State is trying to sabotage its own roster and have football players catch COVID to avoid playing an average OM team is next level logic. We are about to go to Athens and play UGA with 54 scholarship players, but man, we are just terrified of OM...

I would not blame him with the disarray on the team, amount of real time to assess players this fall, and some fans in real need of a change of sanitary napkins in light of the ******, thrown together season we have had.

Trim the fat, recruit, spring, summer, and fall prep would do wonders for the culture of our team.

Still might not matter, but we didn't have a plethora of offensive stars to begin with save Hill.
