The Blind Side based on lies?

Just saw on Twitter where Michael Oher said the Blind Side was based on lies and he is going to “tell all”. Something football related at the U. Of Mississippi was based on lies? Really? How can that be? Well I just can’t imagine that to be true. ******** I know that many people are shocked but I am starting to see a pattern here.🙄

Whatever it is will just roll off of them like water off of a ducks back. They just don’t care.

CAUTION! This is actually a sports related thread.

Next thing you'll tell me that Ole Miss is wrapped up in old south imagery, longs for the pre-integration days when they felt relevant because they were once voted #1 by a biscuit company or something and will cheat in any way possible to try to prove that they are a flagship university and protect that fragile ego.

It’s not based on lies, just ********. Which is why as a amateur movie buff I’ve never watched it, if I want to see 100% unadulterated ******** I’ll turn the PBR Bullriding on TV.

Never saw the movie. Not going to waste 2 hours watching some bear shark BS drama. If Michael Oher had been a 130 pound trumpet player, would he have been given the same Helpful path in life? No, I don’t think so either.

Full disclosure: I've never seen it either.

I read that Oher was unhappy that he was portrayed as lacking in football knowledge (IQ, smarts, etc) and that it has hurt his career.

Calling BS on that hurting Oher’s career, he could have played the kidnapped dolphin on Ace Ventura, and if he could block a fart for 10 seconds he’d have been a pro-bowler.

I'll admit I watched that ****. 2 hour Stars-and-Bars circle jerk.

No respect for Tim McGraw whatsoever; as an LSU fan to play a rebel douche in that movie and record a song about wearing a crimson tide shirt is inexcusable.
Only redeeming quality was Sandra Bullock's top notch legs.

I have always said this story was nothing but a complete ******** "feel good" story that was fabricated by the Tuohys and other prominant OM goobers mainly for recruiting purposes and attention. I just don't understand how so many people believe such attention starved material.

Exactly. Same reason i refused to watch the Book of Eli. Though i do wonder who exactly Denzel was supposed to be...

Oher does have 10 brothers and sisters who didn't get admitted to Briarcrest or adopted by the Tuohys.

I don’t know about the real saga, but I believe imissplatinumplus could produce a great movie about the adventures of our 1 year former baseball coach. Or he could at least illustrate the book!***

Let’s make our own movie about MSU sports. Give ole miss credit they know how to market their school. MS has a lot of movie makers living here. No excuse not to tap into that resource. Somebody write the story and I’ll find a producer..

It was always going to be a Tuohy puff piece. Lewis and Tuohy went to Isidore Newman together.

One thing in the movie that always bothered me was the way it was ignored that Tuberville was the Ole Miss coach at one time and kinda <17>ed them when he left. I would think an Ole Miss fan would have been a little mean to him at least.

I always tell my Auburn friends to watch the Blindside and imagine how they would feel if the Tuohys were Alabama boosters. (and vice versa)

The people I know who have seen the movie but weren’t familiar with the story beforehand seemed to generally like it. But anybody who knows the actual story thought it was a pretty big twisting of facts.

I've never watched it, nor ever will. I'm the black sheep in my family and all of my OM family members loved it when she won the oscar. I knew that the real story was complete BS and that it was a way that the Plantation figured out how to rig the system into their favor. And if I'm not mistaken, it was all stopped by the NCAA when XenaReb was attempting to "adopt" some kids out of Jackson. You guys remember that??

That movie sure put the NCAA in their place!
Why, if nothing else it became obvious how wrong it was to question the motives of a white upper-class dyed-in-the-wool booster family adopting a poor black gifted athlete from the projects. How dastardly the NCAA must have felt when questioning how they could possibly steer him towards their alma mater after providing him with a home, shelter, vehicle and clothing along with an obviously bias tutor to help in that endeavor. The part where Oher DESTROYS that NCAA investigator with simply saying "Because my family goes there" just gets me every time.
Rock solid excuse right there that makes all the other, shall we say, 'questionable' activities just melt away. I imagine that lady left that interview and resigned right then and there.

Saw a summary of the expose, and if that's all there was too it, then Oher still went pretty light on the facts. Most notably, he allegedly revealed that he was already at Briarcrest when the Tuohy's took an interested in him; apparently didn't feel compelled to reveal who it actually was that guided him there.

The irony of the movie of a rich white lady taking care of a poor helpless black person..... yada yada yada. It kind of resembles and perpetuates the idea of the "Ole Miss" plantation owner's wife from which they got their name.

It is really just a story of the lengths that boosters will go to get a star athlete to go to a SEC school. I am sure the same kind of **** has happened at other schools, but there just haven't been any cheezy movies about it.

Here I got one:

The story of Nevin Shapiro, a kindly man, who takes excellent care and provides many opportunities to football players at the University of Miami and teaches them about life. Starring Adam Driver as Nevin Shapiro
