64 rushes for 207 yards for Ft. Scott this year. Not sure what our coaches see in him.

That he played for a really crappy juco team?

He was the #4 rated RB in the country and chose Michigan over Ohio State, Clemson, and Alabama. I see nothing but upside here.

Agreed. A low risk, high reward situation really. We whiffed on most of our RB targets, so him and Witherspoon will be a good consolation.

He had no stats in 4 of his games. I don’t know if he was injured or the coaches just didn’t play him. Either way, I’m not holding my breath that he will contribute for us. I guess this will help with depth. However, we already have 2 studs at RB that we need to feed next year.

Maybe he's a dud. Maybe he redshirts and develops another year. Maybe he comes here and realizes his potential. I think it's a great pickup.

I hope so, but if so, JoMo is the only one who sees it. 247 and Rivals show us as the only school that is offering him out of Juco.

He can't redshirt, I think he has 2 to play 2. But yes, great pickup.

You can't have enough stud RBs.

JoMo & Huff have known this kid for some time now, the pluses & minuses. He must be the best available. And, we might be getting low on scholarships, right? I'm going to trust the coaches on this one that he is the best available for what they want and need.

People...in Joe's first year at Penn State Barkley rushed on 34% of their plays. In Joe's first year at State, our top 3 RB's (we spread it out more) ran the ball 29% of our plays.

In Joe's first year at Penn State, McSorley ran the ball on 18% and passed on 48% of all plays. Fitz has run 29% and passed on 37% of all plays. That means both QB's combined rushing and passing has been approximately 66%.

What that tells me is a stud RB has every opportunity to come in and be a stud RB with plenty of carries if he's clearly the best back. It tells me it's not Joe limiting carries. It tells me Fitz is keeping the ball more on run options than McSorley did. Is that Joe's choice or is it Fitz's read?

Barkley averaged 19 carries per game in 2016 and got 1500 yards. A-Train, Hill & Gibson average 16 carries per game. Considering how much more or a runner Fitz is over McSorley, does that seem out of whack?
