Not sure if this has been discussed, but here’s a thought. Besides a general lack of B1G talent in our roster, coaching is clearly an issue in terms of development, game planning, team chemistry, etc. I am thinking part of the problem falls on the assistants. Lots of turnover in the last two years that may have had a cumulative effect this year. Perhaps Pike’s staff was helping disguise his shortcomings…and the current staff isn’t good enough to do that.

When we look at the guys we have, how many look better than last year? I feel like Pike took the off season off. Couple that with a weak staff and you are in trouble. No development. No right hand man to bounce ideas…or even better to provide ideas. It’s a mess.
Development deschmelopment. Get an assistant who can recruit. And get administrative people who know how to run a recruiting operation.

Totally agree we need a real recruiter. Need to be able to do it all. Starts with recruiting and portal - but all these other factors go into your playing decent basketball. We don’t have the players and the players we have don’t improve and aren’t coached up or put in a position to maximize their potential.

What are they honored for? Landing a bunch of crappy recruits?
Not sure who was honoring the staff, but I wasn’t. In all honesty I wasn’t criticizing them either. But they were clearly carried by some good players and now they’ve been exposed. I think pikes original staff was good…but it has eroded more each year. This is another aspect of recruiting failure. Failed to recruit top players and failed to recruit too assistants. Maybe he’s not the leader we thought.

Oh yeah I was really patting them on the back for landing their plan D targets in recruiting. Yea that sounds like me.
You watch the program crash back to earth and literally any progress we had undo itself in two years. I will not put one second of my free time into watching this BS garbage product. If you think it can't get worse, just you wait until Baker and Harper leave and cliff undoubtedly transfers. If you think cliff is sticking around, you really are clueless. We're about to have less talent than the Jordan years
They make big money. Some of it comes from fans. It’s a business and at this moment, they are failing big time.
I'm not ready to kick anyone out to the curb... yet. It's a long season. I need to see what Pike and Co. have in store the rest of this season.
