I favor the Middies since I spent 25 years in the Navy. Yes, I have done it all. As you know, I played pro football and basketball and tennis and baseball and ........ a few other lesser significant sports. Did I ever tell you about climbing Mt. Everest ...............multiple times. Warez

Issue here is that the Army does not get the better quality athletes because the Naval Academy passed Army in the early 2000's.

A lot of this has to do with what Academy does the better student athletes want to attend and lately it has been
Navy
Air Force
Army

Not just on the football field but the quality of education and the ability to translate that education into their military service and then in the private sector.

I say another close one
Navy 27 Army 21

History lesson....
If Army wins that will mean two years in a row but it signifies a shift in military philosophy in this country.
It is not just the head coaches but the effort the Department of Defense puts into preparing the leaders of each academy.
When the DoD wants the leaders in the Navy to appear superior it is a sign that the US is looking to protect its interest around the world through the seas. This has been truer since the 1980's.
If the DoD wants the Army to appear superior it is usually a sign that this country is preparing a land invasion if needed.

I think a lot of this has to do with the threat of Russia. Especially in the NATO countries in Eastern Europe.

Do you understand that Navy vs Army is not just a football game......
Most of the players on the field will become senior officers in their respective branches.
Meaning that they will lead enlisted men into battle.
I cannnot even find the words to describe the responsibility upon senior officers in the military.

Navy because of the way this country has not had to have any major adversaries the last 30'years has dominated. If you see it swing back to the Army it means that the Army is more important to the DoD meaning that this country has an actual adversary and there can be only one country that this nation will look at in that manner.

With that logic I guess we should be glad that the Coast Guard Academy doesn't have a football team.

Great game between Army and Navy yesterday! Played in the snow and neither team laid down like what happened a few years ago in the Pinstripper. But, that's all right. Warez

That's one of the best Army Navy games I've ever seen. Decided on the last play of the game.

Navy had 2 false start penalties back to back. Otherwise Navy may have won that. Would have been a 38 yd fg vs a 48 yd fg, and the leg was there just a tad left.
