Pathetic start to their post-season at 0-4. Temple, UConn, Cinci, USF have all lost.

Now let's see what the "west" - Memphis, Houston, Tulsa and Navy - can do.

We are so blessed to be out of that conference. Also I hate their play on words in order to make the conference abbreviation look like ACC.

This. And many of the losses by the AAC East have not even been close.
Think the the West will do better.

I find that part amusing. They are both the not haves.
Well, let's be fair. The ACC champ is undefeated and ranked #1. FSU won the title two years ago, Clemson had a big bowl win last year, Georgia Tech was a legit top 10 team last season although a bust this year. The ACC has proven they are a P5 conference.

The American has been a big bowl flop to this point but they were the underdogs in three of those games. Temple was a slight favorite and Cincinnati lost a lot worse than predicted, but the other two were about as predicted. If Florida State beats Houston, it does not mean Houston was bad.

It's a one horse league every year.

I don't begrudge that conference anything, just happy RU isn't a part of it.
I actually hope Cincy gets a Vitamin Conference invite, but doubt that will happen.
UConn , like it or not, isn't as bad as we might think. But isn't the type of program that is P-5 material except for its MBB and WBB programs.
I would love to see UConn control the NE area and make BC look worse then them.
Actually,UConn and RU were sort of rivals in AACbe and had some games that are worth remembering.

Temple is a minor recruiting irritation, especially their troll fans that come on this board,.
But let RU start showing it can compete with the better B1G programs and the Owls will have
a much harder time getting recruits that RU wants. Temple isn't having an easy time as it is, but does manage to get one or two.

Memphis might just be becoming a good program that is getting its boosters support, but that will depend on how they look under their new HC in 2016.
Houston is becoming a top program, lets see if they can keep their HC and continue to look like a top program.
The joker of the AAC had a terrible this season, but UCF has the potential to be a program that if the B-12 expands might be given a long hard look and get an invite to be a Vitamin member.
Memphis also might get a look if they invest in their FB program like they have MBB..

We can look down on ACC schools, but I don't see a reason to .
That conference is in RU's rear view mirror now and I have no reason to look down on any of the AAC schools.

Funny now that we are B1G I can't imagine us anywhere else. That being said the ACC is a legit P5 conference. Clemson and FSU would be successful in the SEC or B1G. Also Richt should make Miami competitive again.

Yeah we likely win 8-10 games every year in that conference but we needed to take the step up to the BIG. Now fans need to understand we are playing a much harder schedule and show some patience of not intelligence.

I guess the last 3 years of ACC success erase the previous 15 years of major bowl game futility.

So we can't talk about other conferences? Stop.

0-5 now as Tulsa goes down to VTech.

You can. But shouldn't you actually make a bowl game before mocking other teams that did? And remember the bowls took multiple 5-7 teams and Rutgers still did not have a good enough record to qualify.

We sucked last year. I knew we'd suck last year. I'm not picking on any single team, I'm picking on a conference, but thanks.

If RU was in that conference we lose to Memphis, Houston, Temple, Navy, USF and probably a Cincy or Tulsa. You know Bowl games aren't over yet? Lets see how The BIG does. 1-1 so far. Sure "Yeah Baby" We win 8- games a year in the AAC.. History says otherwise You can't have been following this program for too long if you believe that.

...and what if said teams were in the B1G? Im not saying that RU is the be-all end-all beyond reproach and I'm not advocating going to other boards to talk trash, but that doesn't mean we have to go all Opus Dei on ourselves either.

I wonder how many teams in the B1G have threads about the AAC?
We are still thinking small, I guess it will take some to for us to rid ourselves of the past and wrap ourselves around the present.

This is at least a valid thread. How about the 30 threads about why Ash isn't here right now? Maybe the thousand threads about Schiano can not get a job or why he betrayed Rutgers?

So where did I say it was an invalid thread? Seems we got a long way to go to shed "small ball" when we are playing with the big boys now.

Oh and by the way I just checked all premium sites of the B1G (curious)
Only Maryland had a thread about the "aac" Titled "Marshall beating UConn in Bowl game".
The B1G could care less about the aac!
bout time we joined them!

Good post - I bear no ill will towards our former conference and especially our old rivals Cincy, UConn and USF, who really did get screwed hard - I miss playing northeastern schools, but not enough to not want to be in the B1G, obviously. Could see UConn to the ACC, someday and Houston and Cincy to the Big 12.

None of those teams outside of Houston are guaranteed losses. Even with Elmer Flood as as our coach, we likely finish in the upper half of that league this year. RU record since 2005 counting this year's debacle is 8 - 5 not all AAC but most years Big East which was harder than the AAC. It sounds like you're comparing the AAC to the Big Ten???

AAC is the power 6 according to the announcer the other night. ha

0-5 but I hope Navy wins and I'm hoping to see that Houston offense score points.

Remember guys ....we are sitting home with no bowl game watching them.
That's true and is my thought also. BUT........next year we play in the Big Ten, we play all of our games on Saturday, we have every game televised, and we make a hell of a lot of money comparatively.

Well... Rutgers was the only member of the Big Ten to ever play in the AAC. Sort of makes sense that nobody else would care doesn't it?

How many threada about the MAC on those boards? For most of the Big Ten that is the local g5 conference, for us its the AAC.
