The "13th data point" is crap.

This season is showing it. If WVU or Baylor goes undefeated, they will be in. IMO all the CCG does is introduce upsets and injuries.

Parity is rampant. I'll be surprised in 2 non-B12 teams go undefeated.

Clemson is flat-out shaky and FSU is a wounded animal right now...at home.

The UM/OSU game is in Columbus.

Washington goes on the road against a pretty good Utah team.

I also think UL loses to Houston who is out of contention for anything of significance...this game (at Houston) will be their Super Bowl.

If the B12 isn't expanding and hiding teams from each other in a 12 or 14 team conference(cough, cough B10/SEC) then what advantage do we have by having a CCG? Everyone already plays everyone.

Boren started this with his psychological disadvantage, and extra data point talking points, others took up the banner that the Big12 was falling financially behind the other conferences, even though Texas and Oklahoma are easily in the top ten from sports revenues. Four slots for five major conferences, means some conference is always going to be left out. Hopefully the best 4 teams demonstrate it on the field. Fact is, the sport would be far better if there were 8 ten team conferences rather than 4 sixteen team conferences that grandfather into the "Haves" teams that have never, and will never even challenge for their own conference titles. Sending the champions of each of those 8 conferences into a seeded 8 team playoff would be a much better system than we have.

It can work either way. A two-loss team can knock a one-loss team out of the playoff. We are halfway through the season and most of this will work itself out. For us, 1 loss won't be good enough to get in the playoff. Winning out is the only way and if we do we'll be in.

Let's look at the record. Oklahoma got in without a title game. An unbeaten WVU or Baylor will get in without a title game because the average number of unbeaten teams in the past 10 years is ONE. Just win out. No problem. The Big 12 got it right by having everyone play everyone else. The Big 10 got embarrassed by having Iowa play for the title by NOT playing the 3 best teams in the conference, and go whipped in a bowl game, too.

Win out and we're in, realistically this schedule will have 2 maybe 3 ranked teams on it by season's end, not a tall task if we are actually deserving
