I don't know you personally, but I have read your posts many times and enjoyed them all. You have my best wishes for your comfort and continued enjoyment of those grandbabies.

Whatever the treatment plan you decide, I pray that you will give those closest to you many blessings of love and thanksgiving for the wonderful memories that you leave with them. The Lord knows the plans He has for you and I'm sure many of us will have to celebrate that Mountaineer championship in the greatest seat in the house..... God bless you and your family.....

Sorry to hear that good friend. My Brother passed from the same cancer about 11 months ago.
He worked in black top and paving,no doubt this is what gave him the cancel. I miss him so much.

Thanks you guys. It's comforting to know that so many people with no direct ties care so much for a stranger. It's also enlightening to see who hasn't posted. I'll be fine. I'm good with it and anxious to go home ^. You know, the cloud. I am worried about my wife, but she's resilient. And I'll really miss my granddaughters. Anyway, love you guys just because you are Mountaineers. Go Mountaineers!

Eers, first of all, if you were in Vietnam welcome home and thank you for your service...second, once you made your first post on the BL you were a stranger no more...God's speed my friend...

Sorry to hear the news about both you and your furry friend. Hopefully you can find alternative treatment options that do exist if you feel inclined to try. We are all together in this odd thing we call life. It's real simple when you receive terrible news, all that worry you may have had about things like what kind of car or status do you have compared to your peers just dissolves. All of that negativity or perceived issues with those who are different in anyway becomes so trivial that you wonder why you ever worried about it at all.

In the end we all are given a limited trial run on this journey we call life. I struggle with my feelings on this sometime but eventually come to peace with the fact God loves me and I have a permanent home awaiting me in his kingdom when all of this ends. If/when you overcome this disease, I hope you can discover and hold onto the feeling of clarity you achieved when you thought your time was up . People beat cancer and outlive doctors timelines all the time. Just know that you are loved and that you have a permanent home awaiting you once it's time to move on.

We are all on this journey together, in 100 years just about everybody alive today will be passed on and hopefully we can all find our true and permanent home. Good luck on this fight, God may not be ready for you to come home. You might just have more to do and see in this life. Perhaps even seeing a Mountaineer athletic championship:)

God Bless!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I get it that you are mentally in a place where you just want to finish your time the best you can without going thru all of the tests and chemo. My brother died of pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed and passed away within 5 months.

On a positive note, if your cancer is isolated to the liver a transplant could be possible. My Mother had one of the early liver transplants performed by Starzl.

Thanks for your service as I suppose the AO contact came from Nam. I no doubt will be joining you from the “Upper Deck” to see a NC! Peace to you and your family.
