That USM-UM game ending was strange..

UM pitcher slips in effort to get to a bunted ground ball toward 3B. Turf is uprooted as a result. Bianco goes to umpires who are then joined by Berry. Two of the umpires go to the tunnel and a groundskeeper repairs the turf. Upon return of the two umpires both coaches are talked with and the game was called a no contest in the bottom of the fourth with USM batting with a man on first and no outs. Crowd loudly booed. Surely there were concerns already expressed before this particular play…game in the 4th inning already. It didn’t seem like that big of a deal. If it was that unsafe the game should not have been played which would have saved a lot of time and money. Fans got the shaft.

Apparently, it's pretty bad. They're saying the Braves might not be able to play this weekend. Should have moved the game to either Oxford or Hattiesburg.

If they think that's bad they should've had to bus to Charleston for high school baseball games every spring. I'm pretty sure those boys plowed the outfield and grew row crops during the summer.

and they're offering a couple $7 tickets to a future MBraves game as a peace offering instead of refunding the full ticket price for last nights game which were $22 (outfiled berm area) to $65 for VIP. Don't believe I want to make another trip down there for anything........

I went to a late season MBraves game last year. There was a very light cross and it was a weekend game. I was shocked at how many people avoided going.

The turf issues should have been addressed before the game even started. Was the turf different in warmups? Nobody thought it would be an issue? Between the La. Tech game and now this game is does look like OM's record is being artificially preserved.
