That one stung...

Same here. It is so rare that we have a great shot to beat Kentucky, so when we piss away an opportunity like that it makes me wonder - how many years are we going to have to wait for another realistic chance to beat Kentucky...3 years? 5 years? 8 years?!

It did sting. It’s also one of those games that has kept the fan base from fully buying in on Howland. Don’t get me wrong, our MBB fan base is probably one of the worse in the country. But, we had everything we needed tonight and a 2-0 SEC record would put this team on people’s radar. Instead it almost feels like two losses.

Forget who the opponent was, what was different about this game than the rest since our Adidas supplied coach got here? Absolutely nothing. "We've got to do a better job of (fill in the blank with another excuse)" Same song different verse. What leads anyone to think there will be a different outcome?

15th straight loss to them over the past 12 years. I didn't have much hope once we couldn't really get any separation in the 2nd half.

Sounds like why we got rid of Stans. It took us 10 years to get back to where he left us. Facts are facts.

Stans might be the best we can get to replace Howland. Who is gonna want to coach at a program that can’t get 300 fans to come watch the team play? And nope I wasn’t there. And will not be there. There are basic fundamentals that every high school basketball player should know how to do before a D1College Coach even offers a scholarship. Free Throws, Rebounding Position, and Defending with your footwork.

Maybe Ado is the best FT shooter on the team and he isn’t strong enough to get fouled while shooting.

By I don’t care what Matthews brings to the court, 1-11 for the season in FT shooting makes him a liability on the offensive end.

Missing front ends of 1 plus 1 is equivalent to a turnover and should be counted as one if the opponent gets the rebound.

4 to 5 minute scoring droughts and 6 plus minutes without an offensive basket is not good basketball at any level.

This game is a representation of where we are. We have some talent, but not enough that we can be inefficient against any SEC team. We don’t shoot FTs well and it costs us in any close game. We don’t have the go for the throat mentality good teams do, and I don’t think we will under BH. We have in game mental lapses that we don’t have talent to overcome.

I think we've got the best backcourt combo since Z and Timmy. That being said at times becomes a 1 on 1 game with both Molinar and DJ which isn't good BB. Jalen Johnson didn't touch the ball in either OT, no set plays for him nor did they even run an offense through him. It was either Molinar or DJ dribbling or taking the shot, can't win ballgames against good teams with only individual play.
