Me too! But since that can't happen, I'ma be on the Lane-Train on that day!!!Wishing they could both lose!
Clemson is garbage.
Trying to decide who I hate most, Clem's son or Lame Kitten. Kind of despise both of them.I am openly pulling for Clemson.
Ask yourself who is the better game day coach: Kiffin or Swinney? Then place your bets.
In case anyone did not notice, "Frankly Howard" is a Clemson fan.
That's unconditionally out!May secretly pull for Clemson.
Now there's a wonderful example of clear-headedness.Are You Kidding Me? LSU and Kiffin all the way!!! You want them to start their sorry-*** schedule with a huge road win upset that would vault them into the Top 15? I don`t think so.
That's right; keep it simple!Never pull for Clemson.
I'd rather the Taliban win than Kiffin.Until the Taliban fields a football team that plays Clemson, I will never struggle to decide who I'm pulling for in a game involving the Tigers. Some of you disappoint me.
Never pull for Clemson.
Kiffin is just Spurrier 2.0I'd rather the Taliban win than Kiffin.
Clemson most of the time Clemson plays good teams well.
The difference is, Spurrier actually won some championships and didn't leave every place he coached hated by the fans.Kiffin is just Spurrier 2.0
I will will pull for LSU.Imo, kiffin is a jerk who can coach lights out.
Swinney is the guy I would want my sons to play for, but he's stubborn and his best attributes are NOT coaching.
I'm not sure who I want to win, but I think Kiffin walks him up and down the field.
What I did not like about Kiffin was the drama at the end of last season. It felt like he was playing games with Mississippi on his decision to go to Baton Rouge or stay in Oxford. Also did not like threating Mississippi about being able to coach in the playoffs before going to Louisiana State.I will will pull for LSU.
I asked AI if opposing fans consider him a "jerk". In part, the answer was "Yes". Words and/or phrases used to describe him were "sharp trash-talking", "provocative comments", "polarizing figure", "resented", "shameless banter and taunts", "villainous image", "personal vendetta" and "animosity". Was I asking AI about Lane Kiffin? No, I was asking about Steve Spurrier. The last sentence in the answer was "Even years after retiring, he remains a figure of irritation for many fans".
Honestly , if Shane talked like Kiffin or Spurrier and won like them, who here would be upset with him? Not me.
I

One other issue I have with coaches is when they seem not to be able handle pressure in a press conference and blowup on reporters in which Coach Beamer does a few times and the clemson coach does on a daily basis and many other coaches do it constantly. They get paid a lot of money so I think they should be able to handle a press conference.
As far as coaches being arrogant, that does not bother me because eventually it could come back blowup in their face.
I can understand why people don't like Kiffin and pull against him. And I can understand why people didn't like Spurrier (and still don't). But Spurrier was and Kiffin is a very good coach. So, I brush aside their running their mouths and saying things they should not say. I admire their coaching abilities. I liked Jim Carlen when he was here. He was a very good coach, too. A lot of people did not like him because he had an abrasive personality. I don't know if you were around back then but winning 8 games in one season here was a huge mountain to climb here. It was frequently talked about our failure to win 8 games in one season. Carlen did it twice and recruited our only Heisman Trophy winner. He also recruited the offensive line that was the key to our 1984 "Black Magic" season when we went up as high as number 2 in the nation. He was fired for non-football reasons. I remember shortly after we hired Spurrier, someone interviewed Carlen and asked him what he thought about Spurrier. He said that Spurrier was like him in that he spoke what was on his mind and did not filter what came out of his mouth. But again, I can certainly understand why people don't like Kiffin.I

Yeah. I did not make clear the sequence of events, but my meaning of threating Mississippi was that he was going to force the coaching staff to join him now at Louisiana State or if they stayed at Mississippi for the playoffs they would not be able to have a job at Louisiana State.Just going off memory, but didn't Kiffin offer to coach the playoffs? Not threaten?
I think the threat came in later when OM said no, and then he told his assistants if they stayed for the playoffs he wouldnt take them to LSU?
Oh well, your point is still true. It was an ugly breakup.
I remember crying after South Carolina lost late in the game at Norte Dame 18-17 during 1979 season. I was at Williams Brice when South Carolina put up 73 points against Wichita State. I was at the homecoming game against Cincinnati when Cocky was replacing Big Spur as mascot and South Carolina scored either 49 or maybe 56 points in the first half. I was at Carolina Coliseum for CCTV game when South Carolina was upset against clesmson 27-6 (worst loss ever) and walked out of that place in tears. I remember a little bit about the Coach Carlen era, and I am a minority here but I believe he is the best coach at South Carolina.I can understand why people don't like Kiffin and pull against him. You and I walked out of Carolina Coliseum at the same time watching us upset by Clemson 27-6. I was somewhat older than you. I felt like Adlai Stevenson after he lost the presidential election the year I was born when he said, "I was too old to cry but, it hurt too much to laugh".I remember crying after South Carolina lost late in the game at Norte Dame 18-17 during 1979 season. I do not remember too much about his interviews or press conferences, but at the same time you were not able to stream press conferences back then. I was ten years old at the time, but my impression back then was Coach Carlen and University of South Carolina administration did not get along.
