We finally got a game sealing first down. I think last one was 2010 vs Missouri.


Crazy, years ago Long and Hayden were the only two who knew what was coming against MSU. Was in the NE corner of the stands that day. Watching on the tube last night brought back that great memory immediately. Wow!

Hayden Fry ran it 40 years ago. Nice that Lester has finally figured it out. Maybe he should go watch some Iowa offense under Fry. Sounds like he could learn a helluva lot. It has been said there is nothing new under the sun. Someone might mention that to the masterminds Lester and Gronowski.

BTW: On Chuck Long's naked boot that beat Michigan State, nobody but Chuck and Hayden knew Long would run it, thus the "faking" worked so well, because the rest of the Hawkeyes, including the RB diving up the middle, thought it was a dive play. MSU, like PSU, still doesn't know the QB had the ball. LOL
