Not seeing the nba talent. Hell look at a mock draft. We have 1 really good college player, but can't overcome poor guard play

Our fanbase wants Mississippi state to lose games. Pack the hump for the ole miss game. Bunch of fair weather fans on this board.

When we can beat teams like La Tech, New Mex, ole miss, usce and finish games at LSU and OK I’ll watch again and maybe go more than 2x a year.
We win those or even half and there is only seeding talk, no first out, next out BS!

the last two years we took care of the non conference teams like we should have. We slipped up this year. **** happens. We still have a decent shot at 4th in the SEC. That will be our best finish in a long *** time. Still can’t get butts in the seats tho.

This is the myth of the last 35 years of MSU basketball. I spent ridiculous amounts of my valuable (yeah right) time arguing with Coach Dickhead 34 in the way back about Stansbury. His point was always that Stans never got the most from his great recruits. My point was he was a great recruiter, but we never had as much talent as his results indicated. One legit NBA player in 35 years now.

Stans brought in a lot of solid college talent, but he got a lot out of them as well. He's a fine head coach, speech impediments be damned.

Yes very true, in a very weak *** SEC year at that. If 2nd place is really first loser, that means we are only 3rd loser, and if nobody ever remembers who finished 2nd, then well, you get the picture I hope.....

I agree. Anything less than a 25-5 record is outrageous for a storied program like ours*

Lol getting embarrassed by a bad Ole Miss team by 25 is why the butts are missing this season. It’s that simple. That loss imo lost you a chunk of fans who were entertaining buying back in.

Our fanbase cares way too much about beating Ole Miss. it was nothing more then losing on the road to another SEC team. Our fanbase makes so many excuses not to show up.

the point is that Howlands teams have made progress in every single year in SEC play. Finishing 4th is great progress for our program. Yet people will choose to watch the women play on tv over actually going to a huge game against Ole Miss. embarrassing really.

So does this help our chances of getting Perry and/or Woodard back next year?

I don’t think this team is a NIT 1 seed. I suspect they will end up on the 2 seed line.

Unless of course Vandy pops South Carolina and UF loses again and Ole Miss loses to State. Then, being a 4 seed in SEC tourney will be ours.

Best coach we've had since McCarthy. I was on board with firing him at the time, but in hindsight, I wish we hadn't.

I think Woodard will be back. Don't think perry will although he probably should as a projected 2nd rounder
Hopefully they both comeback. Should be in great shape next year with a true PG and the other guards coming back.

He is doing a solid job at WKU.

Also with about as easy an SEC schedule as we could have possibly gotten. When you play 3 of the worst teams in the league twice, you better finish high in the standings.

Why are we disloyal if we don’t want to pay to watch poorly coached, garbage street ball? Hell, I don’t even want to watch it for free.

I would disagree with calling how the team plays 'garbage street ball'.
With that approach, there is very little that will impress you in the college game and it is best that you stay away.

So we have to beat the specific tournament and bubble teams you arbitrarily cite and also not drop an unexpected game or two?
Unrealistic expectations.

Street ball is such an overused phrase. So stupid to even say this is street ball. Fair weather fans is the only way to describe Mississippi state. They use excuses that are far from the truth to not show up. Look at what auburn has built. We once had that type of fanbase, but now we’re are amongst the worst in the SEC with a top SEC team. The fanbase should be ashamed

Actually playing more street ball
would help this team. I think Howland’s style may not take full advantage of all the athleticism in the roster.

If the team loses the game it’s garbage street ball automatically. Not sure if there has been a single loss this whole season where someone hasn’t thrown around that ridiculous narrative. Maybe vs Kentucky??

Oh I’m definitely staying away. I will say this though, the product we have on the court now vs 2004 is night and day and it’s not even close. That team fell short, but they played hard, played together, and had a plan. That can’t be said about Howland teams in general. I reference 2004 because that’s when I attended, the hump was packed, and games were exciting. One serious problem college basketball has outside of our maroon universe is how pathetic officiating is, particularly in this league. It’s killing the game and making games unwatchable. Until that changes, you won’t have to worry about me coming back.

Me a *****? Man you can’t even watch Mississippi State basketball teams that aren’t as good as the best team we ever had (in the regular season)
