That is completely crazy. At this point I don't think the fan base has any messages to send by not showing up. The administration has proven they are willing to make changes if need be. Just back the kids now and see where things end up at the end of the season. If it's not good, it's time to go another direction.

I'm pretty sure there will be more Iowa fans in the stadium the day after Thanksgiving than Nebraska fans, along with quite a few empty seats.

Not bad for me. I was looking for club seats and can get them for a nice price now.

Ticket prices are falling faster than some posters cred!
Like yours? It's fine to want a change, but the pessimism of some on here seem to be their only reason to get to tomorrow.

If he doesn't win 7 this year, he's out, simple as that most likely, but I will still be supporting this team all year. You know, "all through the weather."

Plus, we over built w/ the last 10K addition. It’s taken a lot of creativity and arm twisting to keep the streak alive.

Good news is, streak stays alive as the tix were sold by the athletic dept. bad news, it’s gonna be bad optics Saturday. Even worse if iowa pieces together a strong finish and Nebraska doesn’t

This actually means when the weather is bad not when the team is bad. Stay home, do not watch on t.v. This is exactly what the program needs...they need to see the "stock" of the program drop because the stockholders will then get scared of losing their precious millions they get sucking off of north stadium. Mike Riley was the most embarrassing hire in team history, nice guy, horrible hire...fans should expose this.

Yeah, that won't happen for me because I will still support the team. But, best regards.

Your role as drama queen is still intact.

Most embarrassing hire in team history? Right...

It's nothing new. I've gave away tickets regularly during Pelini's tenure because I couldn't find anybody willing to give me 5 bucks for them. Then I finally wised up and just put them in my pocket so I had more room. The sellout streak is about as bogus as a 3$ bill.
Come on dingle, you are a better poster than this. Nothing new? Who cares about the sellout streak anyway? It's bogus? Glad the seats are empty so I have more room?
Don't worry. Be happy. Keep Riley?
You are really stretching now in your attempts to defend this guy.
Even if the sellout streak is bogus (which it isn't), there is no denying that thousands of noticeable empty seats for a night game against a top ten opponent is NOT a good sign for Mike Riley.
Apathy is never a good thing for a football program.

I am not a pitchfork wielding loony with gasoline and a match. I like Riley. Continuity is so damn important. Dingle and others have made solid arguments for retaining Riley. And Coachdubs's "give every coach 4 years" approach is very reasonable.

But... I think the fan base is now speaking with their wallets and feet. And Green and Bounds have to see that. As I said last week, as I was leaving the stadium AT LEAST 10 of the season ticket holders around me (I asked as they were commenting if they were season ticket people) said they were not attending another home game this year and were seriously thinking of dropping their tickets if Riley is retained. And these are not "Joe six pack" blowhards.

Part of the issue with many fans I think, me included, has more to do with style of play than wins and losses. The old dude sitting next to me, who has had season tickets for 30 years, said to me at the half "bend but don't break defense, and a boom or bust offense, is boring football." Not sure I totally agree with that, but it is what a lot of fans are feeling right now. They like Riley as a person, but very few people are jazzed or excited by Husker football right now. Everyone is kind of in an apathetic and depressed sense of defeat. Very few people have a lot of confidence that Riley can turn this around so they lack hope for next year.

And that is what is behind the Scott Frost obsession. His resume doesn't support this obsession. And guess what? Everyone I talked to in the stadium last week who wants Frost here knows that. They aren't the single minded fools some on here make them out to be. But a lot of good, smart, loyal fans are saying that they think Husker football needs a major adrenaline shot, something with mojo, something to get the juices flowing again. Husker football needs a slap in the face and a sharp new direction. And rightly or wrongly, the prospect of a young and energetic coach, who was a Husker legend with links to Osborne, and who HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL AT WHATEVER he has done so far as a coordinator and head coach, excites the **** out of people. Me included.

Quite frankly, Mike Riley and his style of football bores me. But hey, maybe I am just an emotional and superficial nitwit who wants instant gratification. Who knows? All I do know is that I grew up in Lincoln (Belmont) and have gone to games since 1965 when my firefighter father got me into the stadium back when off duty fireman and police were used as ushers. I sold pop in the stadium as a teenager. I was at the game of the century with my dad in Norman.
But I don't recognize the **** on the field I am seeing now as Husker football. And I don't think I am alone. Are we all just nostalgic fools? Maybe 4.6.3 can come bring me some Scott Frost lotion. Lol.
But I trust my instincts.

People want what they want. And even people like me who favor giving Riley more than 2.25 seasons before breaking out the pitchforks will not be miffed if Frost is hired. One can argue over the quality level of the program he took over (probably not the dumpster fire some have claimed). But he has them playing solid football and certainly has more than enough talent to compete in the American. The wins against Memphis and Maryland are solid. But NU is a different level of program and the B1G is not the American.

And I am not trying to pose as some kind of super fan just because I have been around for a while. Quite the opposite. I am simply saying that there are thousands of fans just like me who are upset and have good reason to be. These fans are not fair weather fans nor are they football simpletons who scream "fire the bastards!" at the first sign of adversity. Some of the Riley defenders on here sometimes sound like the arrogant super fan who posture as "the rational and calm ones as opposed to all you other hayseed yokels who don't understand football"

Agree that Frost is a risk. But unless you hire a Saban type (which we won't) any new coach is a risk. It is actually one of the stronger arguments for retaining Riley.

Lol. Freefall. Epic. Free fall would be leaving a college football team with 3 freaking linebackers on it. But we know you have an inherent need to exagerate so you can keep bitching.
Free fall? No free fall? I don't know. I just want some of that Scott Frost lotion you been talking about. Ha

Not arguing...... Just posting the very rare, yet very real, $3 bill!

Lukewarm football, with no identity.
