It's the right decision to move on. He had 7 years here and he has been a head coach since 1995. Didn't get the results that the university of nebraska, fans, players and coaches wanted.

I think his statement was class, and wish him well. Looks like, on the surface anyway, that it's a peaceful parting of the ways.

It's tough to get fired. I m pretty sure this is the first time he' been let go.
That's a tough day for a middle aged guy. I'm sure he'll land on his feet some where but getting canned will sting for the rest of his life.

Hell I've been kicked and told no many times. Cold sales calls can make you wanna quit. You think you have everything down, a good product and then get sent down the deivewdr with your tail between your legs. Sucks but nothing like getting fired. But $1 million + eases the pain.

Yikes. You did cold call sales? You could not pay me enough to knock on somebody's door to do that.
