Yes. USS ORION AS-18, if we weren't in La Maddalena then we were in Gaeta because Commander Six Fleet USS BELKNAPwas his flag ship.We used to have a base for sub maintenance in La Maddalena. Were you stationed there? Congrats on the shellback. Never got that experience.
I was in TDY in Charleston SC before the Fiesta Bowl. I ran into a Florida fan and was trying to have a good conversation about the game coming up. He was a total dbag. I said, you have no idea what Nebraskas gonna do to your Gators and walked off. That bike is sweet. I remember watching Nebraska play FSU in the 1993 Orange Bowl. We were in port in Rota, Spain. The game started at 1:30 in the morning. I remember going to muster at 6 and chow at 6:30.
I had people come up to me in the galley and tell me that they respected Nebraska after that game. FSU fans. Miami fans. All of them. They knew that we should have won that game. They knew we were about to break through.
I was tired for sure. But I was proud to be a Cornhusker.
Happy Veterans Day to my fellow Altus AFB, Oklahoma veteran. He and I served at the base the same time, yet never knew each other. Dragonraider, have a great day!!Yes, thank you to all veterans no matter what your branch or mos.
When you think back to ww2 and all the infrastructure that was necessary from the wacs, the Rosie the rivoters, the farmers that fed the troops....my goodness we were all on the same page and a team.
Again thank you veterans
Here's (not me) what I was talking about. At that moment we were at flight quarters. My duties were to hold a fire extinguisher during fueling the helos.
