I mean, that makes sense right? Starkville is Mississipi's most liberal city by a longshot, and this board skews young and college-educated. I would expect a Mississippi State message board to be more liberal-leaning than a generic collection of Mississippians.

Is this correct? I would have thought Oxford would be a little more liberal than Starkville, at least if you don't count all the cross burnings and such stuff against them.

Even then, I would think somewhere like Bay St. Louis would be at least as liberal as Starkville or close.

Is that counting the students? If yes, then maybe so since college students tend toward idealism. I'd say it's Jackson though, since almost all Blacks (~90%) vote Democrat and Jackson is about 82% African American.

Supposedly the census counts the students as living in Starkville (Mississippi State is not a separate census tract) instead of where "home" is. If that's the case, the "real" population of Starkville is about 3,000, which is obviously not correct. It'll be interesting to see what Starkville's population is when the 2020 results are in; if students are counted in 2020, and were not counted last time, the population should be 45K or so.
