Be handing LSU a loss, we now have a two-way tie behind TN on the regular season board. Let's hope that LSU bounces back this weekend to make it a three-way tie assuming UK takes care of business versus AUB (no easy task...).

Tennessee only has one conference loss to date.

I was rooting for Florida also, but mainly because I want the SEC to get as many teams in the Tournament as possible.

However, I don’t think LSU losing at home to the Gators does us a lot of favors.

It actually makes our loss at home to them look even worse.

As for the SEC? The top 4 teams get a double bye, and we’re in no danger of falling out of the top 4.

I mean LSU is kind of funny yeah they dropped home games to FL and ARK, but they are undefeated on the road. Just kind of who they are. FL winning and being 33 in the NET should move them into the top 30 and make our game against them in Rupp another Quad 1 game which would give us 4 more Quad 1 games instead of 3. I mean that and how LSU beat us I don't think it hurts us and could help us get another Quad 1 win. We have a chance to have the most Quad 1 wins in the regular season.

LSU is really dangerous. Especially if Waters is making threes.(He was brutal Wednesday night against Florida)

That being said, head scratching losses at home to Florida, and especially Arkansas.

Still a dangerous team in the tournament though.

I understand all the SEC Tournament ramifications. I just think if we take care of business, all of that will work itself out.

We actually need LSU to turn around and beat Tennessee Saturday. This would help in a couple of different ways, most importantly, NCAA seeding.

i don't think it could of worked out any better. It's basically a repeat of UK last week. LSU loses at home in a game they shouldn't with big bad UT coming to town on Saturday. LSU now coming off an L will be pissed off and laser focused to make for the bad loss tonight just like we did against UT on Saturday.

I don’t see the connection.

LSU lost at home to a bubble team. Kentucky lost at home to a team that has more than enough talent to win the National Championship.

Remember, Waters was a atrocious against us. If he would have been making threes, LSU would have beaten us by double digits.

LSU had zero business losing at home to a very mediocre Gator squad.

the connection is about UK and what we need. We need LSU to beat UT Saturday. LSU will be more focused coming off a loss to a team it shouldn't off lost to tonight then it would of been otherwise in my opinion. Just as UK came out ready to beat UT's *** last Saturday because we were coming off a weekday loss in a game we had no business losing. Not because of the tip in, but because we had a double digit lead in the game and **** down our leg. Pretty easy to see the exact parallels to me.

Fair enough.

UK needs to take care of business against an Auburn team that has to be very happy to see us without Travis.

I actually believe the Arkansas and Auburn games without Travis could end up being a blessing if Montgomery and Richard's respond like I believe they will.
This extra stretch of playing time could be what ends up being the reason we make a deep run.
Call has been talking along with the media how those 2 guys are the keys.
Now they get a chance to prove if they are reliable with extended minutes.

LSU is that team that could lose in round 1 of the NCAAT or make a run, neither result surprises those who follow hoops closely. There are a few of these teams every year.

we have to take care of business. Auburn gets hot hitting 3's and we could lose without Travis.... Hopefully the team comes together and plays even harder to help make up for the loss our senior leader the next week or 2.

even if someone is dumb enough to care about what a loss looks like over winning the regular season conference title they can take solace in the fact that Florida winning makes our win over them “ look” better.

Florida should have won the game in regulation, LSU is good but they have been a lucky team throughout the season.

It does if we have designs on winning the conference, which I'd like to do. It's hard to keep our foot on the (collective) throat of our conference foes w/out winning the conference every year or three...we're due.

Lets hope LSU beats UT and then we beat UT and then LSU drops one more maybe and we are either the 1 or 2 seed in the SEC T ( but win the conference regardless).

In that scenario, it would be better if UT beats LSU and we beat UT because LSU has an easier schedule of the two going forward and we would own tiebreaker on UT.

I don't know that they have the big beefy bruiser type that you have to have RT for.

What Reid would really bring to that game is consistency and reliable rebounding. If Nick/EJ come in and rebound and don't fall asleep on defense, I think we'll be fine.

KSR mentioned possibly some 4-guard looks. I'm guessing you'll have Hagans/Quickley/Herro/Keldon out there with PJ a good bit, maybe sprinkle in Baker at times.

"Even" worse? They are a Top 20 team with a ton of talent, and we lost on a missed offensive goaltend call. It's not, under any circumstances, a bad loss.

It does us a favor because it reopens the door for us to get an SEC title.

It's still gonna be a tough task, but we have a chance.
