I think Cal takes it for a lot less money than he’s making here in my opinion so start getting your list together

Texas doesn't have to pay him less. Don't think he leaves but money is no issue at UT.
Yeah man. If I was a HOF coach at my dream job with acess to the best facilities $ can buy i’d leave too, because the fans were meanies.
Cal either has to give up a million dollars a year for life, after he's done making 9 million a year to coach, or Texas has to match that monster contract for a 62 year old coach who isn't the hot name he was a decade ago when he was signing 3 top 10 kids per class.
Maybe they will or maybe he takes a pay cut to get out of here, but IMO that's a huge hurdle that has to be crossed on both sides.

Boy, I sure could. Cal doesn’t have a monster class coming in next year; the roster will almost assuredly complete with major gaps. Cal has been a great recruiter in Texas and already has Jai Lucas on staff. And Kentucky has a very difficult and traditional basketball fan base. Texas doesn’t, but does have the athletic department resources to make Cal a competitive offer. It’s almost a perfect fit.
I don’t expect it to happen, but wouldn’t be a complete shock if it did.
He’s probably at the age needs a fresh start. Not me but some of the fans never wanted him here and some other are just burned out of everything Calipari.
I think he will do really well down there with their recruiting base. I just hope Barnhart has coaches in mind that’s not named Mike Brey

I bet Cal is more tired of this gig than we think. All we hear is how the fanbase has had it with him, but we've never asked the question if Cal is feeling the same way about the fanbase.
Texas is one of the few schools with the resources that we have, right?
It would be a good shake up for him. Wash his hands clean of the last few seasons, the kneeling stuff, etc.
But if he left, I imagine we have about 8 transfers about to come up lol.
Also, Sark is making less than 6 million a year to coach Texas football. If they pay Cal 9 million a year and Sark goes 9-3 or better, he's coming for Saban money.
UT has a champion mindset even though they have very little to base it on. I am concerned about this opening. Cal could make a tremendous amount of money through endorsements and commercials. Probably more than his salary coaching at UT. I am a Kentucky guy. I have lived here my entire life but I can recognize the cash opportunity outside of his coaching salary would be enormous as compared to Lexington and Ky.
We can only hope he leaves ... if he stays its going to take years and years to recover . Cal is done . His model is broken .. and for real , the dude just cant win without FAR superior talent . Oh used too .... but I used to weigh 175 also.
UK does not have "the best" facilities. They're nice...top 10 maybe.
Disagree. I think he's actually a fantastic coach and one of the cleaner, by-the-book coaches you can find. Its his recruiting and persona that I dont think is a fit. He older and I dont think he would want to be here.
But the guy has gotten some good results coaching for a school that actually has standards.
I'm more impressed by what a basketball coach can do at ND, than what Pitino can do at Iona.. put it that way lol.

I don’t think our contract actually says we’ll pay him that for life. Only if he wishes to step into an administrative role after year 6, he gets $1 million for the remainder of the contract (another 4 years, I think).
I’d like to see him try the kneeling/woke BS in Texas. That won’t go over well.
If he leaves then we won't have a team. They come here because of him and the OAD mentality.
We would have a depleted roster of about two kids. It would be good enough for the large Mass that pushed him out this year.
I’m ready for Cal to move on. His best years are behind him. But I can’t see another program matching what hes making here coming off the worst season of his career and a now 6 year stretch that’s been far from his best.
This. With the Longhorn Network alone, that covers a lot of $$$ instead of splitting it evenly with all SEC schools
would go over extremely well in Austin.
His last six years a far better than what Texas has had.
