Sweet! I would love to see Hermann fail at UT just like Strong did. What the hell is wrong with Texas? Good grief. Bottomless pit of money, gorgeous facilities, rabid fan base, great University and University town, in the most talent rich State in the union, and yet they field clunker after clunker.

Coaching and stability matter right along with talent and money. You need evey piece of the puzzle to succeed.

Maryland's football program is a dumpster fire right now, and they are blowing out the Horns.

That is what my high school buddy from Lewisville Tx told me last night coming back for the weekend...

He said it’s no excuse for them not to be any good with all the resources and money they have they should be the best team in the state of texas..

Herman's seat will be very hot if they lose and the game isn't even close.

But were not Mack Brown, Strong, and now Hermann, good coaches???? Brown won a national title. And the other two were good at schools before Texas. Then, when they got to Texas, they sucked.

Someone on this board last year said something interesting. He said the problem with Texas is that there are too many cooks in the kitchen. The head coach gets too much outside interference from boosters, regents, and AD and so on...

I believe that 1000%. If people think Nebraska is bad in terms of hand-wringing and impatience, I can't even imagine the climate at UT with the egos involved and the piles of money they throw at that program. Nebraska is supposed to fail in the eyes of its critics. Texas is not, and yet fail hard they have.

Like so many schools that have struck out 2-3 times in a row (or more) looking for their next great coach, their impatience and desperation has now compounded to the point where no one is given any room to operate or time to rebuild. The only chance one of these guys would have is to come in and win big right out of the gate, and that's just not going to happen with all the recent turnover and now, a need to reset the culture as well.

To a lesser extent, all of that is very familiar to NU fans. Just one more reason to be ecstatic that HCSF came home.

Yep. I think this is 100% correct. It is the most cogent argument I have seen as to why Texas keeps failing.

seeing what happened and what those aholes were doing and saying around the time NU left the big 12, I think there are too many egomaniacs in and out and around that program, especially very large donors, that try to influence what is going on in the athletic department.

I can't imagine what coaching in an environment like that would be like, if that's true. Can you imagine what it would be like with a bunch of jerry jones like guys running around? (and yes, I know jones is an arkansas grad, but I said jj-like guys) Everybody's an expert in a place like that and it leads to chaos IMO. I hope they can keep it up.

Best thing Texas did all day was declining the day of game penality to start the game. Otherwise can stand that football program.
