Lol no one watches it anymore, but my youngest is 20 months old and we have REALLY tried to cut back on screen time and have grabbed an old CRT TV/VHS combo and bought a ton of VHS' for witching hour.

She's obsessed with Toy Story (the original) on VHS and all I can think about is Woody saying at the beginning (and Buzz, in a callback in the end) calling this "Not flying, but falling with style!"

Car people love to waste some money.

Still insane though. You knew the haterade would be strong from the left. They don’t like technological advancement. They would rather give your money away to the druggies on skid row

I couldn’t care less but I will admit it’s pretty cool. As mentioned in some tweets, why get so angry upset about someone making a car that can fly, or fall with style. There a plenty of dumber wasteful things in this country to be upset about.

Dude - It was awesome.

It clearly says that there will be a special version that is available for purchase by invite only. That will be the only version of the car that gets air. The rest was an advertisement for the street legal roadster and for Tesla in general. It shows that Tesla can think big and dream.

They didn't mention battery range, 0-60 times, or anything else like that because it won't be in the spaceX version of the model.

The democrats HATE that this came out just before midterms. What a contrast. Big dreams and goals, vs a socialist welfare state.

Dear Mr Piggy

Let me say that I view Elon as on the level of Thomas Edison if not much greater so not taking anything from his intellectual and business acumen. I am the ant and he is the elephant.

So with me properly demoted to the bottom of the totem pole I am impressed at the car and the technology it represents.

HOWEVER it really is like the Wright Brothers flying just a short distance at Kitty Hawk the demonstration represents just a beginning and not the car that can sustain aerial flight for miles.

Was expecting when they said flying car I was thinking of one really sustaining flight for miles.

This car uses compressed gases when are quickly used. Of course there are all the sensors that are needed to stabilize the car rotating and flying and stay stable. That technology is truly a marvel.

But as I said this is very short flight and not yet sustained flight. I will probably not live to see the truly flying car.

I am thinking in my next few years I will see the development of humanoid robots to be used in agriculture to replace the millions of immigrant field workers picking vegetables and fruits.

That will be revolutionary as they will work 24/7 365 regardless of weather without breaks as humans need. A true revolution.

I do have some disappointment in Elon not having focused on a few major human problems like clean water or salt water to potable water conversion, water treatment of sewerage, clean air from air having industrial pollutants, winning the cancer and major health care issues and other nagging human problems.

Not a criticism but an observation and hope Elon will turn his guns on some more problems that are immediate and close to us folks.

Keep posting as when the voices of reason go silent then we are truly lost

I do think your expectations were off. The bet on Polymarket before the event was "Will roadster be airborne for more than 1.0 seconds?" It was 50-50 going into the event. SO your expectations were high, but i think you may have misunderstood.

I personally think getting to Mars and the Moon is one of the most important missions out there today. 1) Trying to get to the moon will lead to many other discoveries that will benefit humanity. (If you shoot for the stars you may land on the moon) Think of the discoveries that NASA made in their program. 2) It's important to dream big and give people something to aspire to. Democrats want you to sit around and feel bad about the contires past that you have no control over.

And the flying car already exists in my book. Home | Jetson - Personal Electric Aerial Vehicle. Not sure if it will become widely used in your lifetime, but it's pretty cool it exists and would be spectacular if it became widely used.

When/if Elon realizes he needs to go back to sucking off the liberals' teet to thrive/survive, as he's had to do in the past, let's revisit these types of threads, and watch how the MAGAts completely change their outlook on his accomplishments.

So lying is now marketing? Welcome to MAGAtville, where, if someone doesn't say exactly what you want them to say, or frame something how you want it framed, they're evil and not to be trusted ... and you can blow up reality just so they don't have sway any longer ... but, also, if someone says something, and you don't want them to use what they actually said against you, you can just claim it's not what they meant, and it was taken out of context ... and, also, where if you outright lie or exaggerate to the point of it being a clear misrepresentation, you can just say it's "marketing." Unless you're not on their team, then you're the devil.
