oh thank god... a PSU loser gives their opinion.
In fairness, I don't think they're a PSU fan. I believe I am the PSU loser you're thinking of. Also, didn't watch the interview nor do I plan to. I don't even watch PSU related coach interviews. I can't think of anything more pointless than trying to decipher information from coach interviews.

Apparently at some point you have watched an interview involving a coach and Shane Sparks. How else would you know that you have to decipher their answers and that Shane has a low I.Q. that only asks nonsensical questions.

I started to watch it--but 90 minutes?? I need the 100-word AI summary, please.
Sparks was asking about some of his favorite moments as a competitor, about memorable quotes that stand out from Gable, who were the most disciplined athletes he’s ever coached (he said someone from Chattanooga and another guy I’d never heard of). He asked what he liked and disliked about Tom most. They talked about his upbringing. Mentioned that he still goes over to Gable’s house and chops wood with him for his sauna and was there last week. Also said guys from the team were going back soon to stack the wood too. There were many details from 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s I found interesting since it focused a lot on his pre-coaching days.

Okay, I watched/listened over the course of 3 days, and I'm glad I did. Nice job by both.

It reminded me of what I like and respect about him: his intensity, his goal setting, his humility, his humor. He's a good guy. I'd love to hear him talk more about his college years, because those were the years I was there too, and I've never talked to him about his experiences. I never knew, for example, that he initially despised Zaputil! Good stuff.

I think his (and Tom's) strength as competitors and as a coaches is their single-mindedness, and that came out in this interview. I think that's their weakness too, and that also comes out. For example, I'd never heard of the two most disciplined wrestlers he said he ever coached. If discipline is so important, and these guys had it in spades, why weren't they Olympic champs? (And why wasn't Victor Voinovich the U23 champ this weekend?) Is it possible that there are other elements that are equally or even more important?

Anyway, he's a strong cup of coffee, it was an entertaining 90 minutes, and it put a smile on my face.
