and again, start a game by playing on D for about 12 minutes of the first quarter.....way too much drama for playing Illinois early like this, IMO.
- need much better next week if we can get to next week.

Holding a team under 300 yards (when I think they had 600 last year) is pretty impressive.

Always love the way too early posts that have a knack of coming up later in the evening...

Love the improvement on defense this year. My only complaint is that they try to tackle too high, especially in the open field. Need to get down and wrap up the legs. That would stop some of the long gainers where the back breaks a high arm tackle for YAC.

No discipline, we have more talent than Wisconsin D , but they are better coached.

Look at how many plays Wisky’s D has played vs how many Nebraska’s D has so far this year. By the end of the year with the way both teams’ offenses play Nebraska will possibly play the equivalent of 3-4 more games than they will.

And yea how do you define talent?? Wisky just beat the hell out of another team with “more talent.”

Nope! Once again this is on the Offense. 4 Turnovers halfway through the 3rd Quarter. Ball security has been pathetic!
But the one thing I find satisfying is we’ve won two games this year that we won’t have in 2017 and maybe wouldn’t have last year.

The South Bama game has the same flow to it as Troy last year and NO ILL in 2017. Awful on offense but this year we still found a way to win. This game, like so many others in the past, we were beating ourselves, giving them everything but this time we found a way to win. We’d have lost this game the last few years

Not saying we can do this every week. Make no mistake we have to play perfect next week and that still might not be enough.

The dline and JOJO are solid tacklers by any measure. Our linebackers and Dismuke are really questionable. Lamar, Cam, and Bootle all do fine. Not Mike Brown fine, but good enough.

Damn fine post sir that's on the money. Our Dline is vastly improved from last year and JoJo is indeed an animal. Actually, the blackshirts are way, wayyyy better than last year. Of course they're not great yet but they're on the right path.

Even the OLine is improving! Haha...even though they still have a country mile away from being a pipeline.

Our kicking game & turnovers desperately need help. We'll hope for the best!

If the blackshirts improve this much each of the next two years we will be absurdly good in 2021.

It's improved. A lot. They're most definitely the least of our concerns right now.

They'll get burned some next week probably. That doesn't negate the MASSIVE improvement.

We probably need at least a +2 turnover ratio next week to win. You never know... at least we've shown a pulse on that front on defense.

If we swapped players on D with Wisconsin right now, they would get even better while we would get even worse.

Wish we had four more Jo Jo’s on defense. Can’t believe Dismuke still plays so many minutes. Not sure he could tackle my mom in the open field.

Yeah, JoJo is something else. As you state, we could sure use four more clones.

Jay Foreman, about an hour ago on “Husker Hangover” 1620 AM. You should tweet at him and straighten that dumb *** out! Tell me when you do it so I can follow the conversation.

The first Illinois touchdown was all about film work and preparation. I think they clearly knew Alex Davis would give up contain on the Weakside.

And no way in Hell Alex Davis would see the field at Wisconsin.

The D has its issue but the offense is the biggest area of concern. The gets put in so many bad situation it isn't even funny. They have done pretty well all things considered.

Dismuke whiffed on that too
