would you agree getting rid off the one and done rule?

That's not a college rule to get rid of.. The college game needs to work with the NBA on this. And the best bet, if this becomes a thing, is to just cut ties with the top basketball players. Just assume they are not going to play for free.

not everyone said it was happening the day before it happened.
I could make a twitter page and make a bunch of predictions too. I could make 100 posts and then delete the 98 that were wrong, and leave up the two I guessed right to make myself look like I know what I’m doing.
Again, you are so gullible. A page with 2,000 followers that appeared out of nowhere doesn’t know shizzz.

Man. If that happens, and it’s seeming quite possible, that would be a Shawn Kemp level loss. That would be one of the worst moments of my life as a UK fan. Then again, with this virus and the economy we have a lot more serious things to worry about. What a year...

Yeah this virus can ******* kick rocks.

It would be such a Kentucky-thing to happen, that a virus nukes 3-4 recruitments, with the biggest one being a UK recruit. With our luck the last 5 years, I wouldn't even be surprised.

Meanwhile Jalen Johnson won't even give this a second thought and bow down to K.

Yeah, a twitter page with a handle of “we just don’t miss” and the name making sure you know they have “real sources”, definitely is legit. God, some of you are gullible.
Not saying I believe it, but when somebody predicts several things that come out of nowhere it, seems odd.

I swear I wish we would just offer him double whatever the g league is. I’ve never condoned cheating but I am losing my mind at this point lol.

You’re going to look so stupid very soon. It’s more than just one random twitter account speculating this. Stop fooling yourself

They didn't appear out of nowhere. They aren't guessing. Two of the guys behind it have been good for a long time.

Clarke may not go, but it's on the table. Especially with everything going on right now. It's really easy to sell a kid on taking the money when there's a very real chance the college season is compromised anyway.

This is clearly fixable. Just know you aren't going to get elite talent and have CBB adopt the MLB rule of 3 years. Just effin do it and get it over with that is the future.

But you can never enforce that rule at a college level. The NBA would need to adopt it. Until that happens a kid could just leave whenever and the NBA will scoop him up in the draft.

This has a fairly easy fix, and it's coming soon anyways (for certain now): let kids go right out of highschool. That will mean the 25th to the 50th recruits will be college's top incoming guys, and most of them will not be ready for the NBA after 1 year. It will force players to come back for a 2nd or 3rd year, naturally.. because the draft will have 10-15 HSers, 10-15 euro players, and 30 of colleges top guys, mostly sophomores and above.

Man, this really sounds like it’s going to happen. Holy hell, next year is going to be awful it it does.

Back in the day it was as honor to get scholarship these days its just an overpaid piece of paper. Athletes don't seem to care and college leadership are ironically too stupid to fix things that Twitter folk can figure out in a few minutes.

Oh please don’t let this happen. College basketball will be ruined. How can we compete with the G-League when they can offer six figure salaries? Also, fall basketball season may not happen anyway, so if we do lose Clarke, it may not mean much in the end.

The beginning of the end of College Basketball as we know it. Just sucks we didn’t even get to run one last tourney before it changed!

I wonder how this will settle out if the top talent bypasses college altogether for paid options and viewership bottoms out. Weird days ahead!

It really hasn't been about education in quite some time. And who can blame them... What exactly is an English degree offering. At least the college game offered the perfect "career move" for a basketball player.. but that has almost disappeared overnight.

That said lets be honest. Is this random twitter account a legit source? Do we have and legit sources yet?

I hate this as much as everyone else ...but, this is America. If he wants to get paid to follow his dream, who are we, or the NCAA, to deny that?

These kids going to the g league will never be heard from again
If Jalen Green and Terrence Clarke go to the Gleague they definitely will be heard from again . These aren’t some random low recruits we are talking about .

Reportedly there are offers of 500k going to some players

This violates the CBA, and it's the CBA that is relegating kids to at least a year after HS before they can play in the league. The GLeague is still affiliated with the NBA. Unless they've completely changed the CBA, and we would've heard about that, they can't go straight to the leagues yet.

They should be able to go no matter their age, but the league makes the rules. They're an association of teams and agree to the rules as a group. Major lawsuits if they do this and it may be a start to breaking up the league

An interesting possibility.. The G-league is better competition.. And we don't even know for sure if T Clarke wouldn't have had some struggles here. SO if he goes to the G-league, he's going to be competing for playing time, the ball, and against much better and much older opponents, ones that don't want to be shown up by an 18 year old for a spot on an NBA roster..

The G-league is not a better option for a top5 recruit than College.. But the $500k will sway anyone.

2006 is when it started so it has been now 14 years that his one n done era has existed. College basketball really need to bring money or something in the equation or we are on our last legs.

Trust me young people do not give one f*** about tradition in this day and age.. give them their money or they are moving on. Clearly this hurts the college game and the older generation. But this is where we are at. As with every company you either adapt or declare bankruptcy.

I think we will be fine. The 20th recruit will just look that much better without the top10 stealing the shine.. OR.. that 60th ranked Senior will be in the spotlight.

At this point, I'd rather just get it over with.
